Dwayne Jarrett won't make the 2009 team

I don't think preseason games are a big indicator of whether or not he should stay. Knowing Fox and his past history with Foster he could decide to keep Jarret on the fact alone that he is big and could probably throw some blocks from the slot position.

I personally like Jarret and would like to see him stay but if what you guys say is true then I give up....

Two preseasons ago, Jarrett was our second best receiver in the preseason based on performance. That Jarrett is still very much there. just as easy as it is for the preseason to make one look great but ordinary in the regular season, they can also make one look awful, but end up being non-indicative of what they're capable of the in the regular season.

Jarrett will almost certainly make the team. Moore seems to have moved up to the #3 spot, but Jarrett will stay on as the #4. Robinson is in no way more valuable than DJ and has been played out of both the receiver and return jobs. Jarrett still has great hands, does well in run blocking, and has the tools to be the next Moose. He may not have produced much so far, but the coaching staff won't give up on him yet.

Robinson on the other hand...he's hittin' the road.

There is still a question on Reggie Bush?

Reggie Bush being a bust is debatable. No doubt he is not the superstar he was projected to be, but he is a serviceable receiver out of the backfield and an excellent return man. He is a higher paid version of Dave Meggett.

So I guess it depends on one's definition of a bust. If bust = not reaching the status he was thought to be, then Bush is a bust. If bust = can't cut it in the NFL, Bush is not a bust.

Irt Jarrett, so far he has been a bust. But he still has a chance to turn it around.

I think he'll make the roster based on how many we carry. As far as my list of excuses, my top rated ones are that his time lined up as a #1 was irrelevant and last night had a strong focus on Smitty. I also liked that Jake gave Jarrett credit for the TE catches last week. We'll see.

I heard that. What scares me is that that statement and others he has made about Jarrett this preseason have been very reminiscent of the way he used to talk about Colbert when HE was struggling and people wondered why he was still on the team. Just making sure he gives Jarrett props for something no matter how tiny it seems, that type of thing. Like that one game in 05 I think where Colbert had zero catches and he credited Colbert for all the PIs he drew and said those count as yards. And now we know why Colbert was not getting better, he really wasn't that good and/or a hard worker. If he were just a bad fit, misused, etc. he would have done well on another team IMO. I really hope that this isn't the case with Jarrett.
