League wide veteran purge

Yeah, I think a lot are having to make decisions regarding cap and some vets' play have just fallen off or rookies have over performed. 30+ year old RBs, expensive 3rd WRs, back up DTs who could start, and the unknown due to recent injury. I think a lot of it has to do with the recent rookie crop coming in and balling. They can afford to do it because they have younger, cheaper guys filling slots/needs.

Looks like teams are seeing that you can win successfully without paying a lot of guys ridiculous amounts of money. This actually bodes well for us. Some of these guys still have plenty tread left.

Money talks, age walks.

MOST of these guys will go where the biggest contract is.

I would really like to see how many of these teams are showing their hand draft hand. A lot of these guys seem to be making room for what they're planning to address in the draft. I know that's not rocket science... but I just haven't seen it like this before.

    • Respectfully I will agree to disagree. I'm not on board with comparisons to Mahomes. If you're going that route then are you also comparing Aidan O'Connell to Mahomes since he went off on the Chiefs defense? Bryce did outplay Baker. Although you could make the valid argument we underachieved given all the gifts the Bucs gave us. And I've said all along this season Baker is being overrated. The Bucs are truly not that good. We should have hung at least 3 touchdowns on those fools. That's on Canales Bryce and the receivers.
    • Just out of curiosity what’s your definition of “lights them up”?
    • Trading back seems like it could give us the pieces we need to put this rebuild in its final stages. Adding another 2nd rounder by trading back with Cin/Browns/Dallas putting us around 9-12 still with a chance to add T M WR-AZ or Graham if he falls or even James P Tenn end who we thought we wanted after last season but he’s dropped a little in from last year to this one but a mid first might be a great place for him to be drafted. Two twos give us a chance to get a stud WR still and a stud DB or safety we’d be young and talented across the board with this kind of drafting but we’ll see in due time.
