NFL: Greg Hardy won't be reinstated because he hasn't been disciplined yet

Exactly how did our ownership do this in this situation?

If you disagree lay out some facts to refute it, you don't have to disguise it with a sarcastic question.

We stood by him throughout the process initially, even letting him play 1 game, only until the NFL started getting berated by the media did our front office do a complete 180 and suddenly take a moral stance on domestic violence. It only made us look like hypocrites.

I now understand and agree with the party who say he wasnt punished.

What matters is what the nfl sees as punishment. Its fines and suspensions.

Also, he doesnt gotta be found guilty in court for an employer to punish hhim. What is he being punished for? ..

Thats what they are doing the private investigation for. They will find something.. even if its straight bullsshit they will suspend him for it.

bad judgment.

Goodell is fighting an uphill battle, they screwed up with Rice so they're going to do everything they can to "save face" by dragging Hardy thru the mud. And their band of idiots who call themselves "experts" will say whatever they're told to say... Much like politicians in DC.

The guy was out all season. Asinine to think he has more punishment coming down.

A long paid vacation you consent to isn't punishment....

Asinine to think? If it was asinine to think Hardy would have already been reinstated and told to keep kraken

They didn't have a choice. The NFL was going to do whatever they had to in order to keep Hardy out of the public eye. Once Greg agreed to this option, that was it.

And to be clear, the Exempt list is a really crappy deal on the team end. You don't get the benefit of having the player, but you still have to pay him and he still counts against the cap (in our case, for a significant chunk of change).

If you think our front office just went merrily along with that deal, you either didn't watch or have forgotten the presser from the day it happened.

Gettleman was severely agitated and made it quite clear the team didn't agree with his being suspended in any form (said the option was never on the table for them). And Rivera was about a half step shy of going nuclear. He had to be reminded o go back to the podium and address other questions after he'd initially walked away with a 'goodbye' that sounded much more in tone like 'screw you'.

You have to remember that up to that point, SOP was to let the legal system play out before any punishment occurred. That's what the Panthers expected to happen with Hardy. They were blindsided (and pissed) when it didn't.

Most people on this board hate your jobs so you think "FUG YEAH. PAID VACATION BITCHES!!!"

What if... and I know this is freaking crazy... but what if you LOVE your job?

These guys are getting paid now. But they didn't when they were in Pop Warner, High School, college (maybe). Most guys who become productive in the NFL play because they love to play football.

They just happened to get paid well to do it.

Cam broke his back, and he felt terrible that he had to miss one game. He didn't say "Hell yes, I broke my back. Paid vacation boys!!!"

90% of this board would be stoked to get worker's compensation. These guys hate missing a single snap of the game they love. They take pain pills and injections just to get on the field. They play past ther prime longer than their bodies can hold up, just because they want to stay on that field

So quit talking about paid vacations just because your job sucks and you hate it and would gladly sit at home at get paid.

Most people don't get to play a game for their "job."  I don't hate my job at all, and I love the company I work for.  However... fug yeah, paid vacation bitches!!!  It's still a real job, not a game that almost anyone would want to play.

What would bother me the most is the reason why I'm having to sit at home.  Everyone thinks I'm a woman-beating, d-bag.  Whether I am or not, everyone thinks I am.  That's what would suck for me personally.

You are dillusional if you think that getting paid $13M to sit at home, travel, and work on your rap album is a "punishment" to Hardy.

Get over it.
