Perhaps Gamble is just having a rough time getting back into the game this preseason. At least thats what I hope because he hasn't looked up to par with what I expect from him.

Gamble never earned his contract. He has made a habit of getting abused in coverage over his career. Last season, teams picked on the other side of the field and people acted like that meant Gamble was now a shutdown corner. Teams simply picked on the weakest link on the defense last year b/c that is smart football (and that was Lucas/Godfrey). Gamble is good on some of the quick throws/short routes but when asked to drop back he really isn't THAT good and never has been in that area.

PANIC !!!

Last few seasons Gamble and Panthers defense played 5-10 yards off the WR

This season they are learning to play up on the WR's

That's a change that will take some time to adjust and not all DB's will excell at it

Plus you have to have pressure from the front 7

they are still playing off WRs in the preseason w/ just as much frequency as we saw last year.

Also, Fox and Meeks both prefer front 4 pressure.

He sucked alot last night no question. Their will be no more talking about putting him on the best WR. He got burnt by a 35 year old retiree and a player who was a bust coming out of Tenn.
