Bring back Trgovac!!!

Fox doesn't control the defense or offense, but he tells the coordinators what he wants to see. On defense, we have always had a base set where we tried to generate pressure from the line while playing zone coverage. Under Trgovac we mixed up a lot of misdirection with the base set, moving people in and out of coverage and blitzing from all over the place. Meeks promises to be more straightforward, letting linemen be linemen and swarming to the ball rather than blitzing.

Honestly, that's all BS. I don't see any swarming, nor do I see stripping like they claim to be working on. I also see defensive backs being caught way the hell out of position and playing tentatively. Based on past performances, all I can conclude is the coaching sucks this year. I mean, sucks really bad.

You ever hear the saying, "Be careful what you wish for"? The haters already found out what life without Jake was like. Now we get to see how things are without Trgovac, and it isn't pretty.

Fox may not control the offense, as evident with our improvement with Davidson, but I believe he controls the defense. I mean, why else would you hire a DC from a team who's defense has been ranked among one of the worst in the league unless he's just hired to be Fox's puppet?

Oh, please. You're better than that.

The overall talent on defense has progressively gotten worse every year since 2002/2003 ish. We've all seen this defense get worse and worse every year.

I'm not going to sit here and defend Meeks like he's some kind of savior, but these are some pretty quick remarks about a guy who hasn't coached a regular season game here yet. And, Trgo, who forgot to put a guy on the most dominant receiver in football for 3 quarters in the playoffs.

Grass is greener much? Jesus...

And if this does continue into the regular season, you can't blame Meeks. So far it's looking like Meeks is just the puppet and Fox is the master pulling the strings.

Both coordinators do what Fox says. Look at Henning here and Henning in Miami.

Fox is a good DC. I'm ok with a DC installing his system and running with it. I just don't think Meeks has shown the ability to be effective doing that.

I agree.

I'll reserve judgement till the regular season. I mean things were really bad last year. Something had to change. Im still glad Turdo is gone and I'll never wish for him to come back. But if the same sh*t happens this regular season, there's no one else to blame but Fox. It's called using "Process of Elimination" to determine the problem.

Wait till the regular season starts and teams shut down that Wildcat sh*t. They still beat us when we played them this preseason, but it sure damn wasn't because of the wildcat or Henning's play calling.

It may be true that both coordinators do wat Fox says, but i believe he gives more freedom to Davidson because Fox is more of a Defensive guy. He wants to be involved in the defense. Right when Davidson came in, our offensive play calls got better. Then he had to compromise when Delhomme went down and with our sh*tty backups. But the play calling continued geting better last season. However on defense, we've just continued to slide down. And like I said before, if it continues, there's only 1 constant...

Anyone wanting "heart and effort" during the pre-season don't know anything. This is like a pro-bowl game in the fact that everyone is playing not to get hurt. No one is going 100% except for those who are fighting to make the team. You're just not going to see the same kind of effort out of the team as you will during a regular season game. It just doesn't happen.

Sorry if you think it shouldn't be that way, but it is.

Ray Lewis and the rest of the Ravens D would like to argue otherwise.

I'm sure this is exactly what you posted after the Panthers beat the Redskins 47-0 last year.

Why we did not make a push for Sean McDermott, the disciple of one of the best DC's of all time is beyond me.... Guess the Eagles were so dumb to hire the guy after Jim Johnson passed away.... if you want a good D coordinator you get guys who worked under Jim Johnson, Dick LeBeau or Monte Kiffin
