We're playing without Beason, Jonathan Stewart, Godfrey, DeAngelo Williams.

We'll have Beason, Stewart and Williams on opening day. That's a completely different team.

STFU, please! Pre-season games do not mean anything, nor do you know what Meeks has planned. OK, Jake may have said we did a little game-planning this game, but by no means does that mean our play calling is going to be similar to what it will be in the regular season. Fox doesn't like to show his hand, we're not going to see anything spectacular in the pre-season. It's all about the repetitions and the snaps here.

Everyone is getting way to riled up over a preseason performance. And like you said, everyone seems to forget we don't have Williams, Stewart or Beason tonight.

Are Williams and Stewart playing defense??? I don't care if they are scrimmaging a high school team, I want to see the guys that are in the game do their job. Yes it is a preseason game but it is by far the most important one and we look terrible. I'm not saying the season is lost but I am saying we don't look good and we must get better. So we get three players back...our offense should pick up but unless any of them can cover or rush the passer, the guys in there now need to step up, no matter how basic of a defense were running!

People are so quick to blame it on the DC, really what talent do we have on defense? Peppers, Beason, and who? Davis? Gamble? come on really. Neither safety can cover, but harris can tackle, richard marshall has looked better than gamble, probably because when gamble gets beat every play theres no reason to throw it to anyone else. No talent at DT and then people blame it on the DC because we have the "talent" to be a top 5 defense....pshhhhhhhh.

We USED to have the talent to be a top 5 defense.

Will Witherspoon. Gone.

Kris Jenkins. Gone.

Mike Rucker. Gone.

Ken Lucas(though he was bad last year, but most of that was actually Godfreys fault). Gone.

There is no use to getting all fired up at how we look in the preseason as Fox is notorious for not game-planning or putting much into preseason games. I'm quite sure we will remedy our DT situation before week 1 which is obviously our biggest weakness.

If the regular season rolls around and we still suck, then I will eat my crow and admit it. Until then, calm down, take a chill pill and relax. Everyone is having a damned coronary over a preseason game. At least get your panties out of a wad long enough to wait and see what we look like in the regular season, if we are still this bad then I will have my crow and eat it, too. Until then, I will keep saying that I think we'll be fine with a couple of tweaks.

Who cares what players are out there on D, we are playing 7 yards off. We allow the 5 yard cushion for the RB hitch. Beason out there would make the tackle quicker but it would still be a 5-6 yard gain each and every time. Are you not watching the positioning? u really think just them standing on the field changes anything?

I understand there is no game planning and I understand that Beason is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge part of our defense and believe me I understand that we are running a basic vanilla defense and I couldn't care less if we get beat every single game in the preseason but what I would LIKE to see in the preseason is good basics, especially on defense since it is so reaction based. I want to see guys in a basic zone coverage be able to cover a guy, I want to see someone square up and make the tackle, I want to see a pass rush with just the front 4. It's not too much to ask for that the fundamentals get done, no matter how basic the game planning is. I'm not saying the sky is falling or that we are going 4-12 but some of the issues aren't quick fixes, that's all.
