Kemba's knee

  1. 1. What should we do with Kemba based on his knee?

    • Let him come back after the original 6 week diagnosis
      2
    • Make him sit the rest of the season
      2
    • Let him rest until he feels he is ready to return

I don't know if we would be considered rushing him back after the 6 weeks is up or if that truely is the time table it will take to heal and be at or close to 100%. But after hearing about D.Rose's injury- I couldn't help but think about Kemba's operation and if we might just want the let him sit until he is truely at 100% and trusts the knee.

What say you?

I would let him sit. It's best for him. Like I mentioned before, the cartilage injuries have ruined many more careers than they have spared, with Brandon Roy being the most recent example I can think of, but there's so many more... Penny Hardaway is another. Amare had it also, and although he's still playing, it's arguable that he hasn't been the same player since.

Westbrook is the exception, and iirc, even he had to have another procedure to clean his up after he came back early from the first one. He defies the odds. Maybe it doesn't make a difference how long they rest? Maybe some guys just recover from it and others never do? But, I certainly think the rest can't hurt and rushing back before being fully healed no doubt has to put extra strain on the joint, the healing cartilage, and other joints for over compensating. I say let him sit the year, Mo will be fine in the meantime.
