I smell fear...

I lived in NY for 30 years... and I know my fair share of Giants fans from up home. Most of the ones now that are here haven't called me (minus Fubar... WHERE IN THE HELL IS HE ANYWAY?!)

But anyway... One of them told me before the season he got tickets for the Giants/Panthers game and couldn't wait to stomp the Panthers.

He's been talking crap all season... and then Monday morning... I get a message on my facebook from him saying:

"I thought I'd hear from serious smack talking from you last night. What happened?"

(I was tired after our game and fell sleep before half time of the NYG/DAL game)

He then has his "status" set to say "_____ is looking to sell his Panthers/Giants tickets. I don't want to witness that abomination in person."

ROFL!

I've known this guy since HS and before, and he's been flap'n his mouth all season!

Now... I'm not overlooking the Giants. I know they are still very capable of put'n a whoop'n on the Panthers Sunday... but, it feels good to hear a decent teams fans actually "fearing" the Panthers.

Just thought I'd share...

What do your "Giants fans", that you know say?

:biggrin5:

I know a guy who goes to school here from NY who's a big Giants fan. He comes over on Sundays and watches football sometimes. We watched the Panthers/Broncos and Giants/Cowboys game right afterward. His reaction watching the Panthers was "We can win if we stop Smith and DeAngelo. Take away those two the Panthers suck." I couldn't really argue with him...but then we watched the Giants. I told him "Take away Plaxico and Jacobs and the Giants suck." He kinda shut up during the Giants debacle. After the game when they were hyping up the Giants/Panthers next week he didn't sound nearly as confident as he did when he first came over...

LOL Well if they can shut down both Dwill and Smith they might as well take away Delhomme and Stewart as well. In dream land that might work.

how do you take away smith and d-will? (better phrased, how do you stop both our passing game and our running game. right now you can't. you try and do one and the other will slice you up. d-will/stewart in one hand and smitty/moose in the other and in the middle some crazy cajun yelling at everyone. scary. very scary indeed.

What I take of this is that your friend is a dumbass. What a stupid statement. If I took away the top players from a team, they would be bad.....I wonder how long he stayed up the night before coming up with that little nugget of wisdom.

I agree.

Now if Hoov get's his hands back, and King/Rosario get theirs back as well... we could be running pretty clean. (not to mention Jarrett or Hackett)

We have hat it takes... now we need to just keep prove'n it!

We match up very well versus the Giants, even before their two offensive players were out. That dline is still very aggressive especially with blitzing LB's. What I noticed was most successful for the Cowboys, is something we do not do, which is run screens to the backs with success. The flats were wide open on their blitzes, and I hope we incorporate that some in our gameplan, especially since the Giants wont have any game tape of us doing that.

    • What are the matchups, stats and superlatives?   I think this will be a hard game. Bucs are a very balanced team on offense:  7th  in total yards per game, 7th in passing, 10th in rushing. Baker is having another career year even better than last year but despite missing his Godwin and Evans. Bucs defense is poor (29th) particularly passing defense, but we’re also depleted in our receiving with Coker and Sanders likely out. Running Chuba is key but their defense is better against the run. (16th) I think this is likely going to require us to score a lot of points to keep up and hopefully the home field advantage tips the scale in our favor. My other concern is our run defense and being able to stop their rookie study Bucky Irving who the Bucs have shifted more carries to recently and he’s averaging 5.4 ypc and knows how to get into the endzone with 5 TDs so far.
    • This is nonsense and you know it. People will be happy when we are consistently and convincingly winning games against good teams. There are people in here talking down to others after losses and barely beating the terrible NY Giants. If you want to strut around here like only you are a real Panthers fan and rage pooing posts because your jimmies are rustled then hey good luck with all that. I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
    • Who had the massive meltdown last year? Hope they feel better this year.
