Landon Collins possibly slipping to #25?

Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball's March 23 mock has Landon Collins going #29, writing: "Collins (6-0, 215) is a physical strong safety who is good in the box and the short part of the field. He isn't a one-on-one pass-coverage safety ... Ole Miss picked on him repeatedly and burned him for two touchdowns. Auburn had success throwing at Collins as well."

Greg Gabriel, who was a scout for Giants 1985-2001 before spending 9 years as Director of College Scouting for the Bears (2002-2010):

on Landon Collins:

"Last year, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had more range and could do more in coverage. ... Where a team could match up Clinton-Dix on a slot wide receiver, I don’t see Collins being able to do that on a consistent basis. ... Collins is a more physical player than Clinton-Dix. ... He’s a good solid player, but I don’t see a potential pro bowl type."

The last mock by Doug Farrar of Sports Illustrated has Landon Collins going #27, writing:

"Collins can crash down on the play like every Nick Saban-coached defensive back is taught to do, but he's also learning the nuances of pass coverage—and it shows on the field."

Greg Cosell: "Landon Collins from Alabama is dime LB type. Not sure he's truly a safety. Not best safety in draft. Derron Smith, Damarious Randall my favortie safeties. Campbell from Northwestern is like Landon Collins."

Best safety "position" workouts: 1. Damarious Randall/ASU

2. Landon Collins/Ala 3. Clayton Geathers/UCF 4. Durell

Eskridge/Syr

^remember this guy liked Damarious Randall better too, like Cosell

It would be fun to watch Andrew Luck vs Landon Collins in basketball. Luck is bigger, and he beat Landon Collins in every event at the Combine other than the 40 yard dash. Neither did the bench press (Landon sat on his Combine results at his Pro Day, except for the bench, which he did an unimpressive 16 reps)

Wish the QBs at the #nflcombine had done benchpress , Andrew

Luck would have killed it.

You like Landon Collins? You know his 3- cone time is slower than the Eagles center right?

Just based on how they view safety position -- athleticism ,

versatility key -- I wouldn’t be shocked if Eagles passed on

Landon Collins

When you're scraping the bottom of the safety barrel in free

agency, kind of makes you maybe appreciate Nate Allen that

much more..Maybe.

Saban: Landon Collins is talented but "not a great

communicator." Said it's important for safeties to get call to

corner furthest from bench

That shouldn't be an issue in the NFL since defensive calls don't come from the sideline in the NFL anymore
