Cardinals Release Ted Ginn

Jeremy Igo

Recommended Posts

why is everyone so big on Ginn, if he was that good he would still be a panther or a cardinal for that matter. but hes not, hes been on 4 different teams and release 3 times in as many years. he is what he is.

Uh did you see our return men this year? Did you see what he did the year before for us?

Especially with our D and field position philosophy, giving Cam a short field would be extremely beneficial.

Why would you not want him for cheap? We bought low and sold high, we should for sure buy low again. Especially when he had chemistry with Cam at wr as well.

This is why my wife hates The Carolina Huddle with a passion:

Her: Hi honey how was your day?

Me: Not too bad, yours?

Her: Well, my bosses boss is in town from London so we all went out to dinner after work and it was free which is always nice but the service wasn't great at the restaurant and it was a far walk in heels so now my feet hurt and...anyways what about your day, anything exciting happen?

Me: Well, Deangelo Williams got released from the Panthers and Byron Bell was told he won't be coming back. But the news was first broke by Killa Cam 69 and Mark S and Igo deleted their posts to post the news himself which kind of started this war between the Igo loyalists and the young bloods, so...

Her: *fell asleep unsatisfied*

Me: back to the huddle I go...

So..........if Proehl pulls off a miracle with Hill....and Philly continues to develop..

How would you rate our WR unit if we fielded #1. Benji, #2. Philly, #3 Ginn, #4 HIll.

I would feel that we need to do much better than that.

might be some competition for Ginn;

http://espncleveland.com/common/more.php?m=49&action=blog&post_id=42741

Bring him home: Sometimes things fall in your lap and when that happens don’t over-think it, just accept it. The Browns need a return specialist. Ted Ginn Jr. was released by the Arizona Cardinals on Monday afternoon.

The Cleveland native and son of legendary high school coach Ted Ginn told me two years ago at Super Bowl 47 with the 49ers in New Orleans that he would love to finish his career with his hometown Browns.

So what is taking so long?

Ginn may not have fulfilled the lofty expectations created by his draft status as ninth overall pick out of Ohio State by the Miami Dolphins in 2007, but he is still a dangerous return specialist and would instantly help the Browns’ awful, 28th-ranked return unit. Ginn has seven career return touchdowns and five consecutive seasons averaging 10 or more yards on punt returns.

Ginn’s NFL career has resembled that of another native Clevelander who was over-drafted, Desmond Howard. At the age of 30, Howard was with his fifth NFL team (with a Super Bowl MVP trophy in tow) and proceeded to average 14.5 yards per punt return for the Detroit Lions and earn his only Pro Bowl berth.

Guess I should brag on my lady a little...

She has zero interest in football, but because she knows how big a fanatic I am, she signed up for NFL Mobile text alerts of Panthers news (not accounting for the fact that I might have already signed up for them myself).

For a while there, shortly after I'd get an alert like "Panthers sign Jerricho Cotchery", I'd get a text message a minute or so later from her saying "Hey did you hear that the Panthers signed wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery?  He used to play for the Jets."

I played along for a while, then one day turned to her and asked "So how are you enjoying NFL Mobile?"  She burst out laughing

Told her I appreciated the thought.  She and my game watching buddy's wife have decided they will be football widows together.
