I have a lot of fond memories photographing Deangelo Williams. 

 

Here are the top 3 photos that come to mind....

 

 

This photo was taken during Deangelo's first OTA practice with the Panthers. He saw limited time behind Desean Foster, but I do remember writing how Deangelo looked like he would be starting sooner rather than later. That Deangelo smile was in full effect from day 1. 

 

 

Deangelo Williams breaks a long gainer against Tampa Bay in 2009. I have a large poster version of this photo hanging up in my office. A nice moment against one of the south's best defenders Ronde Barber.

 

 

Deangelo Williams during player Introductions 2013. This ended up being the last season Deangelo was the Panthers full time starter. Rain had started to come down a bit, adding character to the photo. I dig it.

one of my favorite stats about Williams:

 

1,432 career rushes - 9 fumbles

(2008 273 rushes - 0 fumbles)

(2011 155 rushes - 0 fumbles)

 

1,655 total touches - 12 fumbles (10 lost)

(2008 295 total touches - 0 fumbles!!!!)

 

most fumbles in any season was 3.  Unbelievable ball security.

You had one closeup of his facemask visor that was really badass.  Used it as my desktop background for a long time.

TD run where he immediately threw the ball into the stands. You can see the ball under the guy in the front row wearing blue #89. (ironic having Smitty trailing behind him)

Say what you want about him but he will be missed, leading rusher in franchise history.

one of the coolest things I think he ever did was his Monday night UStream chats in the 2011 season where he let fans ask him questions and he answered them. pretty sure the Panthers pulled the plug on that mid-season
