DeAngelo released...

Will bet anything Fozzy will not be our #2.

Almost willing to bet anything that you shouldn't pencil Stew in a no.1 just yet! I'm sure Gman is very aware of Stewarts love affair with the stationary bike and will make a solid plan B that isn't Fozzy or Reaves starting

I think penciling in Stewart as the lead runner is an extremely safe bet. Sure there will still be some form of a committee used though and a RB added.

But yes, penciling Stewart in as the lead RB basically stating the painfully obvious.

posting this in all of the DeAngelo William threads, because he deserves it:

one of my favorite stats about Williams -

1,432 career rushes - 9 fumbles

(2008 273 rushes - 0 fumbles)

(2011 155 rushes - 0 fumbles)

1,655 total touches - 12 fumbles (10 lost)

(2008 295 total touches - 0 fumbles!!!!)

most fumbles in any season was 3.  Unbelievable ball security.

Man, fug Dave Gettleman. The dude can draft and manage the cap, but he sure does have a knack for releasing some of our best players like Smitty, Beason and D-will and creating a whole bunch of dead money in the process. Having Deangelo on the roster, if only for depth, definitely would have been worth the 2 million or so this will save us against the cap.

I hope, if he doesn't retire, Williams goes to a team we play next year so he can kick our ass, à la Smitty last year. Maybe then Gettleman will learn to not release players when they still have something left in the tank, or else next year it might be Kalil or Davis who gets the ax.

Me too, in fact, I root against the Panthers every time one of our players play against us.

Beason: I hope the Giants kick our asses.

Mathis:  Yay Chip Kelly and Evan, beat our asses.

Smith:  Hopefully Smitty kicks our asses (pretty normal for him to whip up on Panthers anyway) and goes on to win a ring.

Good lord man.

Jokes aside, you are talking about having a whiny bitch of a running back making 6.3 M to be a backup?
