DeAngelo released...

With Getttleman it is all business.   If you are paid top dollar, then you have to play like a top dollar player.  It doesn;t matter if you are well liked or  what you did in the past.  Dwill has not played 16 games for several years, but was paid to be the #1 rb.  Stewart should take note and be ready to play a full season next year or be let go also.    Gettleman will look at every player on the team and make decisions based upon production .  Hurney overpaid players and will take a while for Gettleman to get everything balanced based upon the facts.  Look for Johnson to rework his contract or be on the list of overpaid Hurney players and be let go when possible.  We have to pay Cam and Kuechly and they are the future of our team.

Well said catnip. We are fortunate to have Dave Gettleman ,a GM that runs the team like the business that it is, instead of getting caught up in the emotional aspects that can get a team in salary cap trouble.

Man, fug Dave Gettleman. The dude can draft and manage the cap, but he sure does have a knack for releasing some of our best players like Smitty, Beason and D-will and creating a whole bunch of dead money in the process. Having Deangelo on the roster, if only for depth, definitely would have been worth the 2 million or so this will save us against the cap.

I hope, if he doesn't retire, Williams goes to a team we play next year so he can kick our ass, à la Smitty last year. Maybe then Gettleman will learn to not release players when they still have something left in the tank, or else next year it might be Kalil or Davis who gets the ax.

I couldn't disagree more with your post.

This is heavy sarcasm, right?

I'm going to interpret this post as sarcasm.
