Panthers fans get an early tailgating start

(By Doug Miller, [email protected]) Walter and Nancy Broome of south Charlotte showed up at 8:30 this morning to tailgate for tonight's first home preseason game of the year./pp/The Broomes, showing their allegiances to No. 90 Julius Peppers and No. 89 Steve Smith, said they've been fans and season ticket holders since 1995./pp/ldquo;The first year,rdquo; said Walter Broome. /pp/Being a fan in that inaugural season meant driving to Clemson University, where home games were played as construction on the Charlotte stadium was still being finished./pp/Today's game is at 8 p.m. at Bank of America Stadium, as the Carolina Panthers take on the Baltimore Ravens./p

A true hardcore Panther tailgater would be out at 6AM with Bojangles biscuits, blaring the music, drinking beer, and already started cooking the BBQ pig.
