Jaguars and falcons to pursue Julius Thomas

Falcons are desperate to be taken seriously. Pathetic. Is there a FA they aren't "interested in"?

NO. Because they are all upgrades.

A source tells ESPN that the Falcons will have "strong interest" in free agent RB Justin Forsett.

Forsett is coming off a career-year in a Gary Kubiak offense that has the same principles as the one Kyle Shanahan is installing in Atlanta. He also won't be overly expensive considering he turns 30 years old in October. The Falcons likely have interest in Forsett as a tandem piece with Devonta Freeman, who they've talked up relentlessly this week. Forsett is our No. 5 free agent RB, behind DeMarco Murray, C.J. Spiller, Ryan Mathews and Mark Ingram. Feb 20 - 12:12 PM

Freeman and Forsett are basically the same back. It doesn't make much sense.

it's also well within the range of possibly that the falcons could land hardy too.  i think he'll at least visit there.

that'll be the huddle offseason nuclear meltdown topic of 2015.  of course what'll be funny about it is that it'll be the same people who cursed nippleshorts to hell for even franchising him in the first place pulling their hair out over the fact that the panthers let him walk for nothing.

except for the whole 1000 yd difference in production thing.

I understand why people still aren't sold on Forsett, he's like the 4th or 5th FA RB listed.  But you can't argue with production.  He really stepped up for the ravens last year.  With the right team he can do it again so I agree it doesn't make much sense because the falcons are a terrible match for him.

Freeman hasn't proven anything in his career yet.  So it is hilarious that Quinn/Dimitroff and Shanahan all come in and talk up Freeman like the second coming and then hours later are linked to be interested in Forsett.

As another poster said, hope they throw what FA resources they have at offense and leave that defense alone.

It's the exact same argument OP was using to discredit JT.

You can't just take his TDs away, just like you can't take away JT's TDs.

And Cam is getting those numbers in a pass happy modern NFL offense where every rookie QB is going to be stacking up retarded yardage.

He's getting those numbers with sub par talent around him in a run base system. . Don't let the facts slip away..

Kind of scary. Gonzalez pretty much made the falcons offense to me. They don't need another good tight end.

But then again, they waste all of their cap on offense and their defense remains the worst in the nfl.

Defense wins championships. They can't run the ball and I'd argue their running game would be worse with Thomas. Ryan isn't good enough to win big without a stud defense behind him.

Not to mention they can't protect ryan either...so two huge deficiencies in the ATL offense wouldn't be remedied by Thomas.

I can't argue with you on that assumption.

Except that Newton does not play in a pass-happy offense...

Is someone paying you to post this garbage?
