The Panthers were interested in McCown for several seasons. They made the move for him when he became available because of the Favre-Pennington move. It was NOT because of the Moore injury.

They got him the day after the Matt Moore injury. Maybe they liked him before that, but the Moore injury was definitiely part of the reason they went out and got him.

I'm still on the Moore train and I believe the staff is too. They are just being smart with it, why rush him if Jake still has a few good seasons left?

  Running backs are exceedingly cheap relative to their production. This is a steal, a receiver with his production would cost at least twice this.

  I think read its only got 15 mil in gtd money... if thats true then this isnt gonna be a cap buster. Its bascially a 2 year deal with an out in year 3.
