Talk about giving ska music a bad name

I... dont even..... Its.... uhm...... Yeah......

Did you really call this 'ska'? For shame, hep, for shame.....

This is definitely ska.  Organ on the upbeats and the beat make it so.  In fact this group might be one of the first American bands to play ska, even pre-dating the Toasters.  That made me feel weird saying that but...yeesh.

Take away the vocals & I can absolutely see it, er, hear it....

I guess my label of ska would include some horns, a little faster on the beat and at least 1 person sporting the checkerboard. These folks dont fit the bill as even early pioneers in the sound.....

Really, I dont know too much about ska, other than the limited exposure when I was introduced to modern punk back in '95. The Toasters, Pietasters, early Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Dancehall Crashers, Reel Big Fish and some firends of mine, Jackmove (the video above)...

But I will take your word for it, you know more about it than I do........

Lol none of those bands are punk.  Definitely ska music though, third wave variety.  You might like the actual band Hepcat, who has more of a first-wave Jamaican sound.
