Vikings GM; We expect AP to return. What universe is domestic abuse worse than child abuse?

I don't think it's even close. Let me preface by saying the obvious that I am anti domestic violence and there is no excuse for hitting a women, but I don't think the two crimes are close. In my eyes what adrian Peterson did isn't even in the same conversation as what Hardy and rice did. Hitting a defenseless child who cannot stand up for themself at all is as disgusting and low life as it gets.

Yes a child is defenseless, but so is these women that Rice and Hardy hit. These are football players who are strong guys compared to a 150 pound female. It's equally just as bad in my opinion. Again that is just my opinion.

If I'm being absolutely honest what AP did is in many cultures considered discipline.  And that goes across ALL races.  Granted it seems he went to far but whoopings are a thing that I would say 75% of children deal(t) with, including myself.  Any whooping I got was one that I saw coming and could've avoided had I behaved as I had been warned.  If my parents had told me "they would punish me by taking away a game" I would definitely have rebelled.
This is SPECIFICALLY in regards to whoopings to try to raise a kid. Not closed fist punching/ slamming children and taking anger out on them.

Hitting a woman is inexcusable.

In all honestly society has got way to soft. That's why so many kids get away with what they want into today world. There is a fine line between abuse and whooping a child because they did wrong. Balling up your fist and punching the child of slamming them against the wall and other things like that is abuse. But using a switch or belt on them is not. Unless that whooping goes to far. But come on I got whipped with a switch when I was growing up and it left red lines across the back of my leg. But I don't see it as abuse. To many people in society today have to many opinions on how people should raise their kids. People should mind their own business. If there is abuse report it and let police deal with. They shouldn't even put this kind of stuff on tv. It should handle better then it does in today society to be honest.

And I have said it many times: If the FO had no intention of bringing Hardy back they should have let him walk. To me, it was not smart to bring Hardy back and leave the O-line vulnerable. We could have made a run at Jared Veldheer (along with possibly Denarius Moore). We may have even been able to get each to sign and trade with the expectation of signing a long term contract. I just have a hard time believing that renting Hardy was the formula, particularly with the status of the cap space.

if they cut Hardy there's no chance of a compensatory pick in 2016. If someone else signs him once his contract runs out there's a chance at a 3rd.

A lot of "hurr durr alls what AP did is some good ol skool disiplin" up in this thread

I don't know why I'm posting this because you fugers don't deserve it because you guys will continue to try to rationalize this but here you go, and before I leave, maybe our movement to stop domestic violence or spousal abuse starts with stopping child abuse. Just a little food for thought here.

Hitting an adult woman is the same thing as hitting a defenseless child? Hmm. And stealing something to feed your family is the same as murdering someone for the joy of it? Hmm.

They are both outright wrong. There's no sense in arguing which is worse. What purpose could it server to make a distinction?

Hmm, I don't know, maybe, umm, in determining punishment? Or should all people who commit crimes that are "wrong" receive the exact same prison sentence?
