Who are the best Panthers Defensive Ends All-Time?

Pep also added INTs and FG blocks too

Yep.

Also...

Peppers' missed 6 games during his 8 years with us. ..  CJ has missed 19 games (including games he was a benchwarmer or not activated early in his career, basically any game where he didn't get a single snap) over his 8 year career..     For there to only be a 16 sack difference between the two,  is amazing,  when you factor in what a physical beast Pep was coming out of college.

Peppers by far was the best panther defensive end of all time, debatably the best panther of all time.

CJ is 2nd, Rucker is 3rd and Hardy is 4th. 5th place is hard because their is so many options. People could say Reggie White but his career with the panthers was brief and not that great.

So what are the options for #5?

Tyler Brayton

Al Wallace

Mario Addison

I was too young to know any of the pre-2000s defensive ends so someone would please fill me in.

Maybe in the future we could add Kony Ealy or Wes Horton to the list?

Stop the ignorant hate.

Peppers is the best defensive end to ever suit up for the Panthers.

Charles Johnson is next.

Followed by Hardy.

What 'ignorant hate' are you talking about? Every list has Pep at #1, and the points about CJ's leadership value are valid.

Peppers is not only the best DE ever in a Panthers uniform he is one of the best players. Its time to let the sour divorce go and the fact he could have been the best player ever in the league had he lived up to the potentiel, but at the end of the day... He was the bedst DE ever and its not really close... Yet.

The OP started the thread with Pep not at 1.. Which is a little asinine. . Pep is arguably the best Panther ever not just DE.... He also could be the 1st Panther in the HOF..

I hope CJ can do it a little longer and maybe surpass Peppers on this list. He and Rucker are my favorite DE's we've had so far.

CJ may end up with more sacks and tackles than Peppers but he was never the freak athlete Peppers was. Peppers can easily block passes, play coverage and return a fumble for a 100 yard TD.

You really have to differentiate when we ran a 3-4 and used outside linebackers as pass rushers versus using DEs in a 4-3.  For example Kevin Greene might be an outside linebacker but he may have been one of the best pass rushers of his time and has been a semi- finalist for the Hall of Fame for several years.  THis list really only covers since the time we ran a 4-3.

True. If we are going best 4-3 DE or 3-4 OLB.....Greene moves to the top IMO.
