Humphries for some reason played at about 25 lbs less than the minimum he needs to be for NFL. 305.

If our guys think they can add that much muscle to the guy, then fine.  But that is a pretty good jump.  He can use some time in the weight room for sure and it makes you wonder why he has not already spent time there.

There's no tape of him playing @ 315. I don't care who you are adding 30-40 lbs clean or not, you will move different. Plus can he keep it on, not bad LBs either. Still not buying the hype, he still looks weakish in recent photos too.

When is the pro day at FL?

We will see if he can keep the weight on

Tuesday, April 7 - Tony Pauline on the Florida Pro Day:

"Offensive line coaches from the Patriots, Eagles, Colts, Saints, Steelers, Bears, Chargers, Titans are on hand. ... Add the Rams to the teams that had offensive line coaches on hand today.

...

many of the NFL offensive line coaches on hand stepped in and ran their own drills.

...

I'm told both Humphries looked terrific in position drills. ... Accolades continue for D.J. Humphries, who oozed athleticism in position drills. He displayed excellent feet, balance and fluid hips. The feeling leaving the workout is Humphries has solidified himself as a bottom of Round 1 selection."

One NFC exec explained, via text, that players can help themselves "a little, but tape and live exposure is the main thing. Interviews, workouts and pro days just confirm or call for more investigation. ... Not a lot of wholesale changes on any guy. Guys may have moved a half a round or a round, when you say they've really helped themselves."

"[because scouts don't waste time watcing juniors until they declare,] Juniors have more volatility before and after (the season), and then still can make jumps," added a college scouting director for another team. "Top-round guys can improve maybe a round; lower-level guys tend to make bigger jumps, because there's less of a consensus. ... (But) a lot of it is the media catching up to names they didn't know."

"We value the spring less and less," said a college scout from an AFC team. "The specialized training really makes it where if a kid doesn't blow out the workout, it's a flag. Otherwise, nothing really changes, for the most part, other than with some underclassmen, due to limited exposure in the process."

How many OTs learn the receiver route tree at age 9? #Florida's D.J. Humphries

"Saying Humphries moves like a wide receiver isn't that far-fetched. Before becoming a prized [5-star] offensive tackle recruit out of Mallard Creek High in Charlotte, North Carolina, Humphries worked the receiver route tree with his dad, a former Arena League receiver also named D.J. Thinking his son would make a good tight end, the elder Humphries taught the youngster how to get out of breaks, work a slant route and complete a ladder drill.

"Things would get heated in those workouts where we wouldn't even talk to each other on the way home," [his father] the elder Humphries said. "I definitely pushed him."

...

former Oakland Raiders starting Left Tackle Mo Collins taught Humphries the tackle position in his teenage years [Mo Collins is also a Charlotte native that went to Florida and became a 1st R pick in 1998]

...

Agent Jon Perzley is hearing at least one team compares Humphries' athleticism to Dallas Cowboys tackle Tyron Smith. "Not a bad comp," Perzley said.

...

"Millions of people would love to be in my shoes," Humphries said. "I'm serious about what I'm doing."

...

Family and friends call Humphries "Little D," "Hump" or "Gatorade," a nod to his frequent trips to the cooler in youth football."

NFL Matches for Humphries:

http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2015djhumphries.php

Panthers - "The Panthers need a tackle upgrade and a true replacement for Jordan Gross. Humphries athleticism would fit with Dave Gettlemen's M.O. in the first round."

Bengals (pick at #21) - "as the heir apparent to Andrew Whitworth."

Chiefs (pick at #18) - "Kansas City is a good fit. The Chiefs need a lot of help on their offensive line, and Humphries could start right away for them. He could be their left tackle with Eric Fisher on the right side."

Rams (pick at #10) - "seems like a very logical landing spot for Humphries. St. Louis must keep Nick Foles healthy to have any shot at making a run at the playoffs in the rugged NFC West. Joe Barksdale could be upgraded at right tackle, and Davin Joseph isn't a long-term starter at right guard. ... Humphries looks like a fit for them, and he could form a nice bookend with Greg Robinson."

Giants (pick at #9) - "New York has to improve its offensive line in front of Eli Manning"

Browns (pick at #12 and #19) - "Cleveland could use help at right tackle and right guard, so Humphries would make a lot of sense for the Browns if he's available at their second first-round pick. In time, Humphries could be the heir apparent to Joe Thomas. Cleveland is bringing Humphries in for a pre-draft visit"

Dolphins (pick at #14) - "made a big improvement in their offensive line last year, but they still have room to get better up front."

Buccaneers - "could seek to trade back into the first round and land Humphries, or they could take him at No. 34, if he makes it to their pick there. Tampa Bay needs a long-term left tackle, and Humphries could play immediately on the team's weak offensive line."

Raiders - "Also early in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft (Raiders pick at #35) ... as the replacement for Donald Penn."

Redskins - "an upgrade for their offensive line" if he falls to #38

Viikings (pick at #11) - [didn’t provide explanation]

he also wrote "There are a lot for teams that could target Humphries." For example, he didn't mention the Broncos (#28 pick), who just made NFL.com's list of "7 teams with most obvious 1st- round draft need ("Denver Broncos: Offensive tackle - Much like Carolina, Denver must take care of a veteran quarterback whose health and success are key to the team's success. ... D.J. Humphries from Florida or Pittsburgh's T.J. Clemmings could be just what Denver needs.")
