Will Gettleman be tempted to draft Gurley @ 25?

no way will i be disappointed if we pass him by.

we have huge needs at OT and WR and could really use help in the secondary.

RB needs are easily enough met by guys picked later or out of FA. a better line and improved passing game will do more for the run game than picking some RB in the first. i don't care how good he is.

and this team will be better off addressing those needs at OT, WR, and in the secondary early than if we spent/wasted another early pick on an RB.

And if there's no OT/WR or DB worth the 25th pick?

Maybe a unicorn. . Since it's just as likely none of those position will be available. .

Guys will be available. Not necessarily guys that are worth a first. This is actually a fairly weak OT class in terms of talent. Same with DB. WR is good, but not as great as last year. Outside of the top three you'll be hard pressed to find instant impact guys like Gurley or a guy like Shaq Thompson could be for us.

In this draft the OT pool is ultra shallow and the WR corps goes about 3 deep before dropping off tremendously.  IMO the only position of need that MAY have a BPA at 25 is Safety.  If that isn't the case...go with the Georgia running back.

He's going to be special for someone, really special.  We need to get back on the ROY train.

He looks very slow to me. Is he not?

He has decent speed for a 6' 1" 220lb back. But his areas of strength are definitely his vision, ability to cut, power and pass catching.  He can still make people miss in the open field he is sneaky elusive. And he has a really good motor and can handle 25 carries a game.

watch his first 2 td runs against zona.

As a USC fan, yes....yes he is. We need a back that can pick up tough yards and still hit a home run on any play. That's not Buck.

I'm reading some of your post in this thread, and I'm liking your thinking.  I'm gonna be honest with you dude.  If we get DGB or Gurley with the first round pick that's a home run and like getting Ken Griffey Jr. in his prime at the same damn time.  You can't go wrong with either player in my opinion.

This. But don't let those same two trolls show their ugly heads and ruin the fun.

I think there are several guys that if they're there at 25 it would be hard to argue against them being the BPA. Shaq Thompson and Todd Gurley are at the top of my list. I love DGB, I just don't think he's going to be on our board. I hope I'm wrong though because he's a stellar talent.

JR's 80 fuging years old.  He needs to stop making personnel decisions at this point.  Could you imagine KB & DGB lining up on each side of the field with Olsen too?
