Nelson Agholor WR USC

Recommended Posts

he was born in Nigeria and moved to the US when he was 5. His father played high-level soccer in Nigeria

Agholor leaves USC (after only 3 years there) with a school record for punt return touchdowns and in the top eight of the program's career receiving list. He is the first receiver in USC's storied history to post back-to-back, 200-yard receiving games (@Wash St, vs Cal during 1st 2 weeks of Nov 2014). Not only had no USC receiver ever recorded more than one 200-yard receiving game in a season before Agholor recorded his second, but the school record for 200-yard receiving games is also just two. He was the only player in FBS to record back-to-back 200-yard receiving games this year and one of just seven since the 2004 season

out of high school, he was rated the #18/#31/#47 overall recruit in the nation by 247/Rivals/ESPN, and the:

#3 ATH (Oregon's Arik Armstead was #1)

#3 WR (Dorial Green-Beckham was #1, Amari Cooper #6)

#6 WR (Dorial Green-Beckham was #1, Amari Cooper #7)

now, many have him projected 1st-2nd R and he could possibly could fall to us at #58, as deep as this year's WR class is. Comes from a pro-style offense at USC

Draftbreakdown.com rates him a "Late First Round Value," writing: "Nelson Agholor displays wonderful NFL traits. Efficient with breaks and well versed in the route tree, Agholor can potentially step in and be significant contributor from Day 1 as a NFL receiver. Has the un-quantifiable "it" (factor)."

-Feb 10: "Justin Hardy, DeVante Parker and Nelson Agholor are my 4-6 among WRs, currently. However, they are quite close, and may flip around as we go"

-Feb 12: "An argument can be made that Nelson Agholor is one of the four best WR prospects in this year's draft. He keeps winning me over."

-Feb 15: "This is definitely another good WR class."

I've seen some compare Amari Cooper to Reggie Wayne, but I

see Nelson Agholor more like Wayne, and Cooper more like

Emmanuel Sanders

Editor of PatsPulpit.com Rich Hill @PP_Rich_Hill

Teams that liked Golden Tate and Emmanuel Sanders will

really like Nelson Agholor

Former CFB WR Jeff-LJ-Lloyd @ Jeff_LJ_Lloyd

The more I watch of Nelson Agholor the more I want clarify

his quickness of the snap as elite

I wonder if Green Bay ends up looking at a guy like Nelson

Agholor in the 2nd rd as a Cobb replacement.

Definitely wouldn't mind drafting him with our 2nd.

Agholor is on my short list of guys past round 1 I'd have absolutely no problem with drafting

Note that had Agholor stayed his senior year, he'd have likely been the #1 overall WR taken in the 2016 Draft. If you take out Amari Cooper and the seniors, these are your top returning WRs in the Power 5 conferences next year:

2014 Most Receiving Yards by Power 5 Conference WRs

1313 - Nelson Agholor USC (junior) <-----------------------------

compare to what Rotoworld wrote today about Cobb (who GB drafted #64 overall):

"Cobb's demands (for a $9M/yr contract) could very well be met on the open market come March, as he's just 24 years old and uniquely explosive out of the slot."

    • I'd rather figure out a way to get Howell from Seattle.  I think he would do really well in Canales offense.  I also think Howell would do great with this offensive line. Thoughts?
    • 30 points a game. People were hoping to get 17-21 with Young at Qb. This week will be a tougher defense sure would be nice to eat off their plate.
