So who "has Jerry Richardson's ear"?

Mr. Scot

In his Black and Blue Review article about players lobbying for Greg Hardy, Bill Voth mentioned that among those doing it were players who "have Jerry Richardson's ear".

Now to be clear, this thread is not about figuring out who's lobbying for Hardy. Feel free to start that discussion in a new thread or in one of the half-dozen Hardy threads already active if you like, but that's not the point here.

Instead, I'm throwing out this general question...

What Panther players on offense, defense and special teams have enough standing on this team that owner Jerry Richardson is willing to give real weight to what they have to say?

(I'll save my own thoughts for later, except to say my general sense is it would be a relatively small number of players)

I can tell you it's not the fans.

No owner in the league polls fan opinions when making business decisions, nor should they.

Greg Olsen is another candidate and CJ word probably carries weight as well..

Olsen I completely agree with.  Johnson is possible, but I'm not as certain.

I think Luke would have his ear if he wanted it, I'm just not certain he is the type to go to the owner about something.  He strikes me more a guy that lets his agents or more outspoken teammates handle off-field things like this.  Although I do think he would lend his support and stand up for something if necessary.

Agreed. And he's young too. I'm sure JR puts more stock into the opinions of guys who've been around for awhile (TD, etc.).

    • Gross.  If this is the cream of the crop of college football QBs, we should not be pressed whatsoever to get a guy next draft.  The QB gem of this upcoming draft will certainly not be him.  Ewers and Manning are good candidates but I don't think Manning is eligible until 2026, right?   But anyway, Beck is ass.  Also watched Dart earlier, also extremely ass.  When they said he was a Heisman hopeful, I was flabbergasted.   That is all.
    • Why are stats your end all be all in the discussion between two players? Since when do raw stats have anything to do with NFL potential, do you not realize how different the college game is and how the stats aren't everything? Malik Washington Oh, who's that you probably ask? He was a 6th round draft pick by the Dolphins this past year. Why do I bring him up you ask? Because he lead the nation last year with 110 catches, was 4th in yards, and a pathetic 26th in TD's BUT STATS!!!!!!!!!!  OH MY GOD!!!! HOW CAN WE EVER JUDGE TWO PLAYERS DRAFT PROSPECTS AGAINST EACH OTHER ON ANYTHING OTHER THAN STATS?!?!?!?!?!
    • I just checked the stats and Hunter has more receptions, more yards, and more receiving TDs than Tmac.   Tmac has yet to play so this could change after his game tonight.   Just saying bro you calling people dumb yet my guy is literally has better WR stats and this is with him playing defense.   Something not adding up. Maybe you need to look in the mirror and question yourself...
