NFL Draft:

1st Round Pick- Sammie Coates

hi-res-179990006-wide-receiver-sammie-co

We need to upgrade our speed at the wideout position, and Coates is among the fastest out of this class.  Of course not only that, he is a big guy who can muscle his way through the opposition.  So we have a combination of speed and power.  That is very rare to find in one guy.

2nd Round Pick- Jake Fisher

The best OT prospect left.  I would take Ogbuehi here, but just too many things going against him for me to take him this high.  Fisher is an athletic OT who is very agressive.  He's what I call a gamer.

3rd Round Pick- Chris Hackett

A great SS prospect.

4th Round Pick- Cedric Reed

Has the talent to easily replace Hardy long term if you look at it that way.  Played the year with an injury, but the season before he was unstoppable.

5th Round Pick- Eric Rowe

His man to man cover skills are pretty good.  He could make a good nickel corner for us, and he's big enough to play hard against the run.

6th Round Pick- Kaelin Clay

Many know him for his famous blunder, but I liked him before that game.  He was one of the better return men in college throughout the year, and his receiver skills are respectable.  I see him being a good receiver in the NFL.

Round 7- Stephone Anthony

I like his potential.  Probably will go around the 5th round, but usually once you get to the later rounds, just about everyone has the same value.

Consensus Top 5 ILB Stephone Anthony's stock blew up at the Senior Bowl. He'll likely be gone in the 1st 3 rounds. The latest NFL.com mock has him going 1st R:

or were you thinking of another Clemson player like:

DE Corey Crawford

DE Tavaris Barnes

DT DeShawn Williams

Even if they don't make the team, there's no incentive to cut Kugbila or White.  They're cheap enough to throw into camp competition.

IMO, Bene should be our Nickel/Backup on the outside with us seeking out a dominant #1 guy in the secondary.

Also, looking at the draft, ehhh...nothing against you, just not a fan at all to be honest.  If Coates is the best WR available at 25, I really don't see him being the pick looking at the DL and CB class.

Heehee, you guys shouldn't be down about Coates.  If we're talking talent and potential, I would put Coates at the top of this class.  He could be the next Randy Moss.  Now I didn't like the system he played under at Auburn.  I thought they limited him to just being a deep threat receiver, particularly this year.  Plus he played the first few games recovering from a knee injury.

That sucks for us if NFL teams are looking at him in this light.  I got my first look at him during their game against Florida St.  He was all over the field making plays.  I figured he would make a good OLB prospect for us, but if he goes earlier, I think he deserves it.

If I were Getts, my incentive for cutting those two is simply to get rid of the rift raft.  It's clear these guys don't have what it takes to compete at this level, of course Kugz never seeing the field at all. (Really, why in the world hasn't he even touched the field?  Has he even played in a pre-season game?)

When it comes to Bene, I originally wanted to keep him at the nickel, mostly due to his size.  Thinking he would be the ultimate match-up for your shorter and quicker slot receivers.  Yet after watching him play on the outside, going up against decent big number 1 and number 2 guys, I see he could be another shut down type corner.  I'm thinking we could have something similar to what the Bengals had with Leon Hall and Jonathan Joseph.

Matthias, dude...I do t know what to say to you anymore. your mocks are so bad that I cant help but read them. it's like I know the Trai wreck is coming and I can't turn away.

we might be able to pick Coates up in the third if we really want him. he has the most suspect hands in this class and was pretty much the sole reason Auburn had to go crazy person on trick run Triple option weirdo spaz mode rushing attack to stay in games. Take Coates off your board together and start a mock 3.0
