Drake's New Album: If You're Reading This It's Too Late

Somebody used the word homogenized earlier. That's today's music in a nutshell.

Rap is as predictable as country music nowadays.

And rock and roll is nonexistent. Due to access and technology it's harder and harder to be original and different. Give me hip hop from 85-01 any day of the week.

yeah that's what a lot of people like today is the bragging stuff, the thing with drake is he'll put out something like that for the people who like that effortlessly but he puts out the slower/deeper songs with true meaning and those are the ones that hit you the most

you can't say this without giving each song a try.. that's really a horrible way to judge a body of work imo by listening to one song out of 17 and not liking it after half a minute

It's a very good way, honestly. It's an immediate clue that said rapper is unimaginative and uncreative.

If I hadn't heard any of his music I would agree. But I have heard plenty. He talks about himself and how awesome he is in every single song that I have heard.

So I listen to the new album and withing 25 seconds he is dropping ignorant N bombs and talking about how great he is.

Nothing to see here.

Yeah, I went to iTunes and listened to the song previews.  Music just sucks nowadays.  Drake is no exception.  It's all about the sales, so then you can buy a lot of stuff, and then rap about it, and repeat it all.  There are jus not many actual musicians/artists out there anymore.

Have any of you listened to Kendrick Lamar? He's being hyped as the next Tupac/Nas/Biggie/Hov-esque talent but yeah let's ignore him

what has kendrick lamar done after his control verse? Nothing great.. people were deeming him a god off 1 verse.. no that's not how it works

Don't get me wrong good kid maad city was good but he hasn't put out anything great since that control verse
