Marques Colston, Jake Long, General Free Agency Questions

1) i hear the Saints might cut Marques Colston as a cap casualty. what would he be worth and would it be too much for Carolina? He has always burned the Panthers, might be nice to have him burn someone else FOR the Panthers for a change.

2) i also hear that Jake Long might be cut. is he out of Carolina's reach? is he worth pursuing if not?

3) last point, does anyone know where i can get offensive line statistics, particularly for individual o-linemen (sacks, qb hits/hurries, etc)? i dont really have the money to pay PFF for their premium stats, so i thought i might ask the Huddle for help. haha.

C olston is worth nothing here.. he is a older version of KB... He is slow and we need speed.. waste of money. .

Long is injury prone now and still thinks he's worth a good amount of money. . I wouldn't waste the money it will cost to bring him here..

So No to both..

Seems like Gettleman desires young players that are less expensive,so i am saying no to Colston and Long.

we also havent seen Gettleman in his true form with respect to free agency. he's had to go bargain bin shopping for old, nearly-used-up players. with more cash this year to work with (perhaps as much as 30M), he might go for an older, but more valuable free agent who has the right kind of talent and enough left in the tank to last us a few years.

Why would he do this? What has shown you or what has Gettlemen said that he prefers older slower players past their prime..

His best FA class was younger players trying to prove themselves. .. his worst FA class was older players hoping something was left in the tank... Now he has money to spend you think he going to pay older players hoping they have something left in the tank..

nothing. just like nothing has shown me that he will continue to bargain shop now that he has more money. truthfully, we dont know what Gettleman is going to do. He has stated that he likes building through the draft, and that the Panthers arent restricted to the lowest of low-value free agents anymore. does that mean he wont sign someone who is past their prime but has alot to offer still and would immediately improve our roster, despite their age? we dont have any way of knowing what he'll do with a player like that.

C olston can't offer what we need.. Speed, Speed ,

SPeed.. He doesn't play special teams so he has no value to this team.. It's a waste of money when you can get younger players in FA for the same price and you can draft from another good WR class..

Why waste money we have little of in a WR who is the same as KB.. And offers us nothing on special teams or in the stretching the field category. .

To be honest right now your looking at the Name not realizing the player isn't what he was anymore. .

    • Kraven has awful shitty comic book movie vibes all over it. It's just more of whatever studio owns the rights to the Spiderman set, but no longer actually has Spiderman anymore. Wicked is probably no more enjoyable. 3 hour long musicals are tough to endure.
    • One of those guys who throws a pass that makes you yell "OMG" then immediately follows it with one that makes you go "WTF" 😳 Essentially the Brett Favre prototype...
    • The Giants games are an interesting comparison for sure. We could compare the Chiefs vs the Bucs as well, since at least both teams are largely the same as they are now, rather than the Giants whose coach lost his mind after losing to us. 30-24 KC in overtime. Hunt had 106 yards and Mahomes had 291. Baker threw for 200 yards, but 2 TDs. Their leading rusher had 25 yards or something. Our offense outperformed what the Bucs did vs KC, but being a division game we won't have the benefit of being overlooked. If our D plays how it did in the 4th quarter I think we can get some stops.  Can Bryce carry a second game? I'd rather not find out and have Chuba carry the load, but we'll see.
