Arsenal bid for Dortmund striker, Aubamenyang has been rejected.  Arsenal are expect to make another bid...  I don't know anything about this guy but Wenger is willing to bid £30m for him.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9917996/borussia-dortmund-warn-arsenal-that-pierre-emerick-aubameyang-is-not-for-sale

Apparently Spurs don't have a place to play 2017-2018 season and Wembley refused to let them lease it for one year.  Chelsea also refused... Arsenal is considering the offer (depending on a fee).  If offer goes thru, all Spurs home games will be at Emirates Stadium....

Technical, fast paced striker. Does lack (much) killer instinct.

Some rumours in Belgium that Aston Villa is interested in signing Club Brugge's powerhouse Obbi Oularé as Benteke's replacement. Don't think the kid is ready for the PL yet, too raw and still has some fysical problems.

Why wouldn't Wembley want to make some money? Do they even have a primary tenant? And with White Hart Lane, the Emirates, and Stamford Bridge, is a 90K stadium with no primary tenant really necessary?

Also is the new WHL London's bid for the NFL hence the emphasis on football specifications?

Spurs paying Arsenal for rent would be hilarious, though. Wonder if they'd change the look of the stadium a la Metlife for Jets/Giants.

Chelsea bid £26m for Everton 21 year old CB John Stones...

damn...  English talent is overpriced as hell.

I believe i read somewhere Re: the Sterling deal that BPL teams have to have a certain quota of English players on the roster or something like that and with England lacking good homegrown talent that is driving the price up.

EDIT: Found it. Champions League rules state that of the 25 players on the roster, 8 have to have trained in the team's country at some point between the ages of 16 and 21.

City seems to put an emphasis more on the transfer market than player development, so they needed to overpay a player who filled that requirement. Doesn't help that English talent rarely gets to Sterling's level nowadays.

sterling was inconsistent as hell last year... England have a lot of those... Walcott, Chamberlain, Ross Barkley just to name few...  poo, last season Manchester City almost bought Ross Barkley for £50m... Dude got injured and still not recovered.

BTW, thank you for confirming how grown rule quota... Many here think it's a myth.  Arsenal purchased Chambers last year for £16m after Chambers started in only 10 games.

How could you forget Jack Wilshere? He's practically the poster child!

Well... I only used players who play similar position as Sterling and have similar attribute... Speed.

Most English players have potential but they never seems to live up to their potential. The list of these players is very long....

Like I said... There is a reason big teams pay crazy money for young English talent.  I find it hysterical when someone thinks Sterling is worth £50m and Stones (who's been constantly injured) is worth £26m just because of their skill and not because they are Englishmen.

The same people called Manchester United retarded after they purchased Luke Shaw, paying £30m for 18 year old who only had 1 good season.

I'm sure you know better than sky and BBC.  You should tell em.

Show me where anybody has said the sole reason for City signing Sterling is because he is English. If they wanted cheap and English they would have went for Ings, Austin, Schneiderlin (counts as home grown) or Clyne. All fill the requirement, all relatively young, all relatively talented. They could have signed those 4 for 50 million.

I'm sure if Shiekh Mansour found out that Sterling was signed to be an expensive trophy piece heads would roll.

Sterling was signed because he is one of the highest rated youngsters in Europe with both international and Premier League experience. If QPR didn't have the 20% sell on fee clause I bet that Liverpool would have settled for £40 million which I think a lot of people think is a reasonable fee for Sterling.

Look few posts above where CL requires home grown talent.  City will buy 1-3 garbage players and they were destine to buy one English National team starter.  They were interested in Wilshere and Sterling but Arsenal told City Wilshere is not for sale. So that's left Sterling.

Use google and u will see that infact the only reason City were going crazy after Sterling is because they lost a lot of home grown talent and 2 of them were regular contributors/starters.  City lost 3 midfielders so Schneidelin would be the only option but Schneiderlin had his heart set on Manure.

Sterling fair market value was established at £35m after 2015 season.  City had to pay £50m because Liverpool knew Manchester City wanted Sterling and will pay £50m because Sterling is homegrown.
