2015 Summer Transfer Thread

Rumors that Perez will go all in for Aguero if they miss out on Pogba, but other than that haven't heard all that much. They could always move Ronaldo up though since he's more of a penalty box player now anyway.

Also, the word is that Arsenal wants Iker, but doesn't want to pay a transfer fee since they know that Real can't keep him with De Gea there. They want Real to release Iker, but Iker doesn't want to go unless he gets all the $ remaining on his contract.

Arsenal needs quality goalie, they been linked with Iker for few years now. I think this season will be unique. Both PSG and Manchester City no longer effected by Fair Play Rule and can spend money at will.

I still think Bale could go for less than what you guys think. Real Madrid aren't in the business of making money on their transfers. If they can, great. If not, who cares. They need a scapegoat for the season, and many supporters are already pretty anti-Bale. I think Bale could be had for £65-70m.

Also- I, for one, am glad we have a new person frequenting this section. It could possibly help get rid of the "NASCAR" part of it, since it hasn't been used for NASCAR in quite some time. I hope more people come in and provide some discussion.

What we don't need is twitter spamming with the same information from 9 sources or information from people who aren't sources at all. While you may think "we" don't know anything about Memphis Depay and we need to, I can assure that almost all of us know just about everything we need to know about Depay. Most of us scout all of Europe's top talent, regardless of if they are linked to our club.

It's find to post a reputable rumor or even a definite transfer, but we don't need garbage rumors or 9 links to say a player signed with a club.

He just an attention *****, ignore him. He has no clue about soccer. He makes threads and he posts 20-30 replies without other people commenting. Do you think a normal person would do that? Lol

Liverpool.... Lacazette please

also dirtymagic have you heard any of the illarramendi rumors?  would be interesting

Yea, I have. I think he would definitely help our midfield out tremendously. Still hope we focus primarily on striker, but I wouldn't be arsed at this signing.

Ben Smith says he would have signed a new contract if a different manager were in place.

I mean the only reason why I'm really mad is because I bought his jersey this past summer.  I'm not too concerned either way because if we do sell him it will be for much more than he is worth and we could find a player that's probably better than him.

Fire Rodgers either way though, I don't trust him in the transfer market anyways

Saw a tweet that summed it up perfectly: "He's a little prick but the club is being run by amateurs and the players pick up on that."

There's no desire right now to win trophies from this club.  If we don't seee an attitude change real soon COutinho will want out next; and that's when we're really gonna get into a deep mess.  I'm fine to sell Sterling because we would get a boatload for him when he's not worth that much.  What needs to happen though is we need to use the money on Lacazette and Konoplyanka.  If we do that that is two proven players who WILL make us better and give the attack an immediate upgrade.  That won't happen though.  We'll lowball and end up with Puncheon and Ings.  It's a trend that won't ever break.

Damn it I wish we could let Carra run this poo

Sky Sports: Sterling wants out of Liverpool, will not sign new contract. Wenger is coy on situation and refuses to rule out bid for Sterling.

I think Wenger will bid for Sterling with a player plus cash. I think it will be Walcott plus cash. Maybe Wilshere... Wilshere looked good the last few games, much better than Cazorla.

Arsene Wenger pretty much calls FFP a joke...

Arsène Wenger believes that Uefa has caved in over the robustness of its financial fair play regulations because of pressure from Europe’s top clubs, who have been uneasy about the Premier League’s new £5.14bn TV deal.

The Arsenal manager was reacting to the comments of Michel Platini, the Uefa president, who said that the governing body would “relax things” with regard to FFP, as the current rules risked impeding the game’s growth.

The Premier League’s mammoth contract with the broadcasters will take effect from 2016 for three seasons and, under FFP, will afford English clubs greater leeway, which others across Europe might not enjoy.

Uefa is now inclined to permit club owners to invest more of their own money over a three- to five-year period, as long as they can show that revenues will grow over that time to allow them eventually to break even. There have been concerns that the current system promotes the status quo of the very richest clubs and does not encourage investors to buy into the others.

“It looks like there’s an international pressure to make these rules more flexible because of potential investors in other countries,” Wenger said. “I believe the television contract in England has pushed some other clubs in Europe to want this to be a bit more flexible for them so they can compete better with investors investing in their clubs.

“I believe it’s more down to counteracting the potential investments of the English clubs by the other European clubs. The pressure came more from the other European clubs.”

Wenger, a long-term advocate of financial prudence, is frustrated because he feels that the mooted changes are coming before the current regulations have had time to fully take hold.

“FFP never worked completely,” Wenger said. “It restricted. It had a positive influence on some aspects of our job but it was never completely in place yet. The only thing you can say is before it is completely in place, it is already more flexible.”

Uefa is facing at least 10 separate legal challenges over FFP, and Wenger added: “Uefa or Fifa do not have the same power that they had 10 or 15 years ago, on the legal side of it. Everything can be challenged by the European court and that makes it much more difficult for Uefa to have rigid rules applied, because it’s always in contradiction with freedom of investment regulated by the European rules.

“It’s not easy because there are very intelligent people at Uefa who work for a few years now on that problem. At the start, to me it looked very logical, very easy and very easy to apply, as well. When they wanted to push it in, you see it was more and more difficult.

“They took the investment in the youth system out of FFP and then of course what did it create? Huge amounts of money in the youth system and the wages came up in the youth system and made it more difficult as well.”

I think it's going to take too significant a bid for Wenger to convince LFC to sell to a rival. Talking £30m+player or £45m. He's definitely not worth that, but I think we'll ask that of a rival.

I think what we're going to see is similar to the Suarez situation. Sterling doesn't have a straight buyout in his contract, so he's going to be held hostage. He can either sign the £100k/week contract, or stay on £30k/week for another year.
