Will Steve Smith affect Torry Smith's opinion of signing with the Panthers?

Torry Smith spent a year playing with Steve Smith in Baltimore. It's well known Steve is pretty salty after his release from the only team he had ever played for. Back in September, Smith also made some comments about Cam not being able to read coverages in the red zone which is one of the reasons for Carolina's struggles in converting TDs in the red zone.

Wonder if a year of listening to Steve Smith bash the Panthers will affect if he'll consider signing with the Panthers.

Torrey fits our scheme. 89 didn't at the end.

Torrey isn't a redzone guy anyway....and that was the only way 89 was going to score at the end. Torrey makes his living going deep

I appreciate the interesting question.  We need more of that on the Huddle.

Sometimes Smitty just comes off as an angry guy with an axe to grind.  Torrey Smith is a pro's pro.  I believe that he will see above the antics and stick to business.

Am I the only one who isn't all that impressed by Torrey Smith? Seems totally one dimensional to me.

I don't think he is all that and a bag of potato chips, but he is better than what we have.  He does seem kind of like  one-trick pony as has been stated earlier in the thread, and as such I don't see why we should pay anything close to a premium for Smith.  His hands have been a little shaky to boot.

I think that we could get the same type of play (but hopefully more) from Crabtree or someone else for considerably less money.

I still think Denarius Moore, Kenny Britt or Hakeem Nicks would be a better value.

To be honest, I don't think Cobb or Maclin are realistic, and I could really take or leave the rest (even though I still wouldn't mind signing Moore).  I am much more intrigued by which receiver(s) that we'll land in the draft.
