'Official position' is basically the public stance. It doesn't always line up with what actually is happening.

It would have been pretty foolish to publicly state that it was a one year rental at the time.

The "settlement" thing is interesting. Although we will never know the terms of it, it seems sketchy on the surface. It's not standard procedure to pay a witness not to come to court and testify against you (and is probably witness tampering). On the other hand if Holder filed or threatened to file a civil suit for assault then a financial settlement to "settle all claims" would make more sense.

My coworker just came in from lunch and told me she was at the bank talking with her teller, and the guy and the teller next to her were having a conversation where the teller said they were praying for this customer this morning, the customer said he was too, thank God it went well...my friend looked at him and said "Are you Greg Hardy?"
