Peppers played 8 seasons for us, and had 7 good or great seasons.  Peppers dropped into coverage more than Hardy, so this skewed his sack numbers a bit, but Peppers had more forced fumbles and interceptions per year and slightly less tackle numbers.

I think that you're correct (if you believe) that Hardy has never been the force or freak that Peppers was (is).  His fanboys want it to be that way, but Hardy is Peppers Lite (extremely lite).

Seattle will focus on resigning its core on defense.  Any free agents they sign will likely be on offense, epecially if Lynch leaves.  I don't see NE being a likely destination either. 

 

The Bengals would be a good candidate for acquiring Hardy.  Cap room to spare and their sack numbers last year were among the worst in the league.

Fair enough. I was more so just trying to make the point if JPP is elite, so is Hardy. 

 

Edit: i thought you were suggesting JPP dropped back into coverage as much as Pep did. Don't follow the Giants close enough to argue.

They where not going to resign him after this year. They couldn't get him to sign for what they could afford and tagged him.

He was to be a one year rental while they made plans to move on (a.k.a Kony Ealy). Why some refuse to understand this concept is baffling.

Regardless of his bonehead antics, they can't drop the kind of money he wants. Uness you would rather play scrubs at key positions of need. Ask the Lions....Suh probably walking also.

CJ has meant so much more to this organization than Hardy ever would. 

 

Hardy made his own bed. 

CJ does mean a lot to our organization but I don't agree with the more than Hardy ever would statement. Hardy brings a different element than CJ. I would as I indicated, like to keep them both and I hope that Hardy keeps it clean...

Oh, yeah, I don't think that we're going to know what players truly think of Hardy until he is gone. And, even then, we still may not know depending upon the level of "silence" that his ex-teammates want to keep.

 

No one is going to talk against Hardy with things still up in the air, or even think that it's necessarily their place to do so.

It's amazing how the Patriots collect bad apples, suck a few good years out of them then discard them. No one complains, no one tells them they lack a moral conscience for signing these guys.
