The new development on 51 and Monroe rd, they sale those house for $350k.... No clue why. Not a very good area but people buy them anyway.

That's a great area.  Because that's over where I live.  Location location location.

Seriously though, Sardis road corridor and proximity to private schools.

I remember a friend of mine excitedly telling me that he'd bought a house in Fairfield Farms that was going to 'TRIPLE in value!' because some real estate investor friend had told him that they were going to build a luxury shopping center 'like Phillips Place' in that area. That was around 2002.

I'm pretty sure the mollusks have died off and that restriction has been lightened. I'm on Lawyers in between 51 and 485. We've got water lines out here and developers have bought up a lot of the land here I'm guess with the assumption that these restrictions will slowly SLOWLY disappear.

The mollusks have never been found there, lol.  That's part of the reason the heightened restrictions are so stupid.  They are hoping that they return if the creek is kept pristine.  But I haven't seen any indication that the goose creek restrictions are easing any time soon.

New commercial water lines can go in, but the developer has to prove that they are not increasing flow demand to the sewer system.

I thought they got around those restrictions because it was going to be an "outside" mall called "Bridges of Mint Hill" where they'd essentially have little bridges over the creek to preserve it.

My brother helped clear that land before it hits the creek and to his knowledge, it was mainly the economic meltdown that happened that halted it.  The construction company kept emergancy unemployment checks coming to them for a while in hopes they'd be able to continue work but it didn't happen.

Traffic would be a nightmare there if that happens though.

the economy halted it, but the trouble is that more stringent environmental regulations went into effect early 2009.
