According to the NFL Michael Oher failed his physical and was released. 

 

 

Probably important information for any of you wondering if the Panthers would sign him.

I think it's worth it for any team to bring him in for camp if they can get him cheap enough. Even if he isn't starting material anymore, he would be a great backup!

He was getting wavied regardless, I never put much stock in "fail physical" form guys with high cap and/or big contracts. A few Team doctors will look at a players med files and some would state he's fine. While others would state he's finished, or he's only got a couple years max.

Plus injury cuts are done for cap/contract benefits too.

It's also possible Matsko could say 'stay away from him'.

failing the physical was likely just an excuse for the titans to get out of whatever contract they had with him.
