As of 11:29EST, at least 10 people injured. 54 on board. Hopefully everybody survived.

Speculation that engine failure in the left engine is to blame.  If you watch the video the props on that engine are not turning as fast as the right engine.

This immediately reminded me of Air Florida flight 90 that crashed into the bridge over the Potomac river in Washington DC back in the 80's.  It's the first "disaster" I remember as a kid.

 

I think why it stuck with me was because there was a guy in the water that kept handing the rescue helicopter rope to other people instead of using it himself. When they finally go back to get him you see only his hand above water and then it goes under and he dies before the get to him. All this was shown on TV and seeing it as a kid was pretty horrific. I still think about it every time I cross that bridge.

What are the odds that it hit that van in front? Seriously, already low odds you crash a plane, then you clip the top of a van?

Looks like the wing busted out the windshield of the van, pretty scary stuff.
