Dorial Green-Beckham: If he falls to us on the clock in 2nd

top dawg

Haha, it's a war on two fronts. I might get confused about which thread we are arguing in but I'll give it a try.

That's not what I said Mr. Scot. If two players are there for us, one is so-so talent wise but has high character he would be selected over the more talented player with character concerns. Even if this is not 100% accurate it sure is the perception that the front office wishes to convey.

G-man has an incredible eye for talent but even he knows not to bring in future Cincinnati Bengals to Charlotte. Big Cat don't won't no scrubs.

One problem: The scenario you're basing your argument on doesn't actually happen.

If we're looking at two players in a given draft spot, they're going to be equally rated on talent.  The team isn't gonna look at a guy with a third round grade as an option in the second round just because he has high character.

Character could be used to separate two guys graded with equal talent, but they're not gonna raise a guy's draft grade.

It's also a straw man because it's not like any given draft spot has only two guys to choose from.  Even in the seventh round there are still plenty of choices available with no major character concerns attached.

I want either Sammie Coates or Devin Smith in the 2nd.  Give me a burner to pair with KB.  Someone is probably gonna roll the dice on DGB in the late 1st or early 2nd.

DGB looks like a slightly less physical KB to me with slightly better hands. He looks like he may be faster than KB, but he isn't a speedster.

Coates had a 19.1 percent drop rate.  That is pretty astounding to me.

Devin Smith is intriguing.  He needs to get more physical, work on his hands and refine his route running.  Although not world class, he does have some speed. We'll see how fast he really is at the Combine.

DGB isn't a speedster?  THe guy ran a 10.59 100 meter dash in HS.  He can fuging FLY.

I think fastest WR 40 time at the combine is probably between Coates, Smith, and Tyler Lockett.  Smith ran a 10.56 100.

My money would probably be on Smith.

From what I'm reading, people think that DGB's best time will be 4.4 although he is more likely closer to 4.5.  I have checked out some of his YouTube video and it doesn't look like he is burning anyone to me. But, his Combine will provide some clarity.

Lulz, Huddle Posters always give me a good laugh. Da'Rick was widely considered a first round talent here and around other fan sites. Point blank, DGB has been out of football for over a year and linked to substance abuse and domestic violence in a season where the NFL has been plagued.

I take that back. Comparing Rogers to Green-Beckham is atrocious simply because Da'Rick appears more mentally stable than Dorial.

Da'Rick Rogers did not have a first round grade by anyone that mattered. Seriously.  If some site had him as a first round grade, then that was few and far in between.  I said "grade".  Sure he had (has) some talent, but as one who pays really close attention to the receivers in the draft (and the last two in particular), there wasn't nearly the amount of hype surrounding Rogers as there is around DGB.  In fact, Cordarrelle Patterson really made Rogers a footnote.  Rogers wasn't even coveted after getting cut (for the second time), and was finally signed less than a month ago.

The comparison may not be "atrocious", per se, but it is most definitely a stretch.

40 time probably will be in the high 4.4s, which is still flying for 6'6".  It's his long speed that's elite.

I don't know what he did or didn't do and I honestly don't care.  My point was that we did take a guy with character concerns #1 overall after putting in the time to do our own research.  DGB is the type of talent that warrants doing a little digging into.

He bought a stolen laptop why can't people get the story right if they are going to keep mentioning it..

Calm down ladies.

God forbid this is the first time I've ever brought it up. Also you're probably taking it the wrong way, I was stating that what Cam did is nothing in comparison to whatever this kid allegedly did. I don't know much about the laptop story, nor do I care to understand. At the end of the day what Cam did was a dumb college kid making a dumb college kid mistake.

Cam's "scrutiny" was all media driven/not actual crimes is my point.

He could be there when we pick in the 2nd, though my guess is he is off our board. Not to mention the class is loaded with WR talent, so there will be plenty of wr taken before him.

1. Kevin White

2. Amari Cooper

3. DeVante Parker

4. Jaelen Strong

5. Devin Funchess

6. Sammie Coates

I would feel pretty confident all those guys go before him. Should have stayed in school.

*I think DGB is a better prospect than everyone but Cooper, White, and Parker btw, it's just his off the field poo is enormous.
