Tax returns

Anyone else got theirs yet?

If so what are you doing with them?

I didn't do or get anything fun, but I did pay off the last of my debt. So I don't owe nobody poo now!!!!

Bull poo!!! You don't have to pay someone else interest for the fun you have next week, do you. That is awesome.

Remember the debt free feeling and avoid going back. I was there 15 years ago. Was feeding 401k at max. Banking savings and then dollar cost averaging mutual funds and still growing a savings account. I got married, had kids and the finances went the other way. It's part of life and you deal with it.

Point is, you might say it's not "fun" but you will appreciate this in the long run. If I could pay off my last debt today I would have lots of fun... Good job OP.

Getting a small refund from state, just enough to cover the cost of filing them. I owe a significant amount in federal taxes. I will be waiting to 14 April to pay them. And it will be the old fashioned printed return to make them do as much work as possible. :)

You have a financial advisor to cut the fed taxes down some?

My fed isn't giant but alas I have to write a check.

When I say significant, I mean in relation to the refund I got last year.  :)

We owe $1300 or so, primarily because my wife got a bonus this past year, and her employer didn't withhold enough.  Well, that and I took a payout of dividends in September 1st, instead of reinvesting it in my 401k, and then I forgot to go in and modify it afterward, so we got another dividend check in December.  Which was great, except for the additional tax owed on it.  We adjusted her withholding last week and fixed the dividend issue, so it shouldn't be a problem next year.  If she gets a bonus this coming year, we will have enough withheld from her regular check if they don't take enough out.  If she doesn't get one, then we will get a refund next year.

Gotcha. I was thinking 5k plus.
