Russell Wilson is smoke and mirrors.

well obviously Wilson is horrible

he just finished his rookie contract and all he has done is take the Seahawks to the playoffs three years including two Super Bowl appearances and one Super Bowl win...and the worst call in football history away from making that two wins

set a record for number of wins in the first three seasons

only qb to throw for 300 and run for 100 in a single game

most passing yards in a playoff game by a rookie

all of that with no big name wide receivers

obviously he's horrible.

No one said he was horrible. He is just Overhyped. You can't tell me with a straight face that he isn't the luckiest QB in the game...how many times does he mis-handle a snap or fumbles it and it bounces right back to him. Happened twice in the game against us. Not to mention how many times he just lobs a ball up in the air and it magically gets caught (i.e. fail mary, luke wilson - where he runs 40 yards back and just throws it up into double coverage yet green bay just poos the bed). And your first fact for him being a great player - number of wins - means nothing from a player stand point. It just shows he has a great team. Peyton Manning has a horrible playoff record, hell even Jake Delhomme has a better playoff record than him. But that does that mean Delhomme is better than Manning? No. Just shows how a team aspect matters.

All I'm trying to get too is hawk fans and the media hype him up to be this special athlete. He IS A GREAT GUY and ROLE MODEL who is a SOLID starting QB in the league. But Hawk fans and the Media ignore the fact that he has a great O-line (yesterday he had all the time in the world), and a great running game. He also has a defense that can save his ass from 4 interceptions and still win a game. It took him till the second quarter to complete a pass. If he was a true "elite" qb, wouldn't he throw it more than 20 times a game? I.E. Brees - Brady - Manning all throw it AT LEAST 35-40 times.

Wilson is very good, no sense in trying to deny that.

As for all this about Cam and his accuracy on long passes, let's no forget what he did for Ted Ginn's career. What's Ted doing in Arizona again? Not to mention Cam's rookie year with Steve Smith. Get Newton some legit speed at WR or someone at least faster than Jerricho Cotchery and you will see his deep ball accuracy again. It's really not that difficult to understand.

Not to mention what he's done with Philly Brown this year even while being banged up and having no serious receiving threat outside of KB and Greg.

Oh yeah. and not to mention the deep ball drops by KB.

Oh YEAH. And not to mention the guy calling the plays. smh. Lets try a flea flicker to our 40 year old receiver who runs a 5 second 40

People forget this.

Seattle's defense, scored more points than the Seattle offense in last years Superbowl. And they scored those points early, so Wilson had nothing to do but pad the lead (and his stats), which he did. Who could have asked for anything better, if you want your legacy based on winning (as opposed to what you actually contribute to it).

And remember, a then no name defender was Superbowl MVP; not Wilson, he did so little.

Incredible!

I didn't watch that SB either.

The guy is just a average game manager that is carried by a extremely good team and coaching. Here is the Seahawks offense.. Lynch run, Lynch run, Wilson lobs a deep pass downfield and it is caught. He is not a QB that can methodically drive an offense down the field from the pocket, he rarely throws to tight windows and he rarely threads the needle. All of his passes are deep floaters that somehow other teams dont see coming and the WR happens to be at the right place and right time.

Put Wilson in the Colts or Packers offense and he would fail. He is extremely lucky he has a good supporting cast and defensec that carries him.

doubt it. I think he does well in any offense.

Russell has excellent 'touch' on his passes, one thing Cam lacks A TON.  Aside from that there is nothing he does better then Newton.

All Wilson has IS touch. Hardly any velocity to really have to concentrate on not throwing the ball to hard but its not necessarily a bad thing.

He's Cam newton on his first season with a super defense :)

Cam will be beyond great : Gettlemagic is getting him the team he deserves and this young man is learning (cam) how scarcity feels like.

It makes Cam more mature - the minute Wilson Signs that contract - seattle will fall off a cliff : 49ers anyone lol

On the other hand guess who's coming up from Cap hell

He took the team and scored in 31 seconds before halftime.....throws a catchable deep pass that is usually place perfectly.

Keep in mind Kearse dropped that pass that hit him in the hands in the 4the Qtr and would have had them getting at least 3 points. That pass was thrown by Wilson.

Just bc the last play was an Int on what most anyone would call the worst call in SB history does not erase Wilson's accomplishments to date.

Speaking of Cam's deep ball (or potential TD passes in general)... he's got to have some of the worst luck in the league when it comes to that.  Granted he's not as accurate with it as he was his first 2 years, but it seems damn near every time he places the long ball perfectly it gets dropped.  Hell, even back during his sophomore year this was a problem.  I remember more than a couple from Louis Murphy and LaFell that were dropped that were easy TDs that year... Ted Ginn had a handful of dimes dropped last year, and of course we all remember KB this past season.

Even in the Pro Bowl last year Dez and AJ Green got the case of the dropsies from perfect balls from Cam.  It's like the dude is cursed.  That's what really magnifies his inaccuracy at times... is that even when he's pinpoint accurate (or at least very catchable), mother fugers routinely drop it.

It was only the worst call because Wilson couldn't execute it.
