Russell Wilson is smoke and mirrors.

What's up with all the hate?  The guy is a terrific QB. He was 1 yard away from beating Brady and winning his 2nd consecutive Super Bowl.

I'll give you this; he was very fortunate to have been drafted by the Seahawks. The team is so good that he doesn't have to win games by himself. He just has to not turn the ball over and make good decisions.

So now "not turning the ball over and making good decisions" is a "terrific" QB?

I'm not hating, just tired of seeing folks abusing these QB buzzwords when Seattle relies on pretty much everything outside of the QB position to win their games. Heck, they were in the Super Bowl in spite of Wilson.

That's unfair. He made some really great throws tonight in tight man coverage. The int at the end was an amazing play by the db. Wilson is a great player. He's also pretty lucky but tonight the luck ran out.

How many TDs did the Seahawks' defense score last Super Bowl against the Broncos? Any QB can win a SB if that happens. ANY ONE.

He completed 12 passes the whole game, 4-5 of those were lobbed jump balls, another 4-5 went to guys that were completely wide open. The 1 or 2 good passes all game were single coverage on the outside with no safety help. No tight windows, no splitting defenders, things that every other QB in the NFL are asked to do on a regular basis.

He's very mediocre and every game the OLine, Lynch, STs, coaches and dominating defense have to carry him. The only above average part of his game is his ability to scramble. He's basically a shorter less douchebag version of Colin Kaepernick.

The entire game he was asked ONCE to make a tough throw and he stared down the receiver, allowed the DB to jump the route and threw a game losing INT. He could have just thrown the ball out of bounds, let Lynch run it in on 3rd down and all the talking heads would fall over themselves to say how great he is. But of course he couldn't even do that.

Now hurry Seattle and sign him to a $150 million contract, what could go wrong.

Amen, look at his pocket after the play fake. It's because all eyes are on lynch. He throws one route. They tried to make him the hero at the end. They aren't fooling anybody

BTW RW didn't complete a pass until there was 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter... for the second straight game.

This is what I find most annoying about Wilson and his hype.

It's undeserved (no matter how much you like him, or what the team does).

He's not asked to carry that offense. He's secondary to it. Lynch, is the primary offense weapons teams gear up for, and Wilson still doesn't throw passes early. And when he does, it's always loopers, timing patterns, bootlegs, short quick throws. You know; gimmicks. 90% of the time, Wilson seemingly always knows who he's throwing to. And when the that receiver is covered, he bolts, or starts running around trying to by time.

No one not saying he's not good at what he does (running their offense, relying on their defense and running game). He is! But he's not the QB most who support him on this website think he is.

Think RG3 with less passing skills. Neither one of them know how to read a defense that well (or is even asked to do it on  a regular basis). But hey, Wilson throws a good lob, and excels in buying time, then throwing jump balls to his seemingly/incredulously always open receivers.

Of course, many of you will cringe at the RG3 comparison. But the worst thing the Skins did, was listen to RG3 and put him in a pro offense, which exposed his lack of Pro Ready skills. At least Seattle's smart enough to limit Wilson, and let him play the hero, when he can finally do a damn thing right (cause the defense can always manage to hold the opposition, no matter how bad Seattle's offense is).
