Right before the play, I said to everybody watching with me that ball security was absolutely paramount where they were.

 

I expected either a Lynch run or a play action to Lynch and a Wilson run to the outside.

A fake to Beast Mode and a QB roll out running it in for a TD would have been ballsy.

If it didn't work they still had the time out.

Saw word that Darrell Bevell said the receiver should have fought harder for the ball.

 

He may technically be correct, but I've lost any respect for the guy throwing something like that out there.

I still honestly think that Carroll wanted Wilson getting the game winner to add to his legacy. He wanted Wilson to get the clutch highlight and story. "Wilson throws game winner to beat Patriots for his 2nd ring".

I even tried to find an excuse for them... Hoping the Pats interfered.... Anything, and nothing was there. The DB had just as much right to the ball as the reciever, and it just so happened that the flight of the ball carried the reciever into being leveled out of the play.
