Seattle offers extension to Lynch

But you don't pay for what someone had done, but what someone will do. Lynch's career isn't going to be productive much longer.

How much is guaranteed, how is the deal structured? For all I know it might even give them short term cap relief while they try to keep their core together for a couple more seasons of contention. He's a huge part of what they do. I'm not a big fan of giving old RBs big money either but I think they've earned the benefit of the doubt. They are a franchise that seems to have it figured out.

If I remember the article, I believe it said 10 million or more this upcoming year at least.

I am just out here not to get fined... I am just out here not to be fined..I am not sure how much he has in the tank or his injury history but he seems to have a lot left in the tank.. Seattle should keep him if the price is right as we have seen what over investing in RB's can do to a team...hell I wouldn't be sad to see him in a Panther uniform..

Hey Marshawn is playing hard. Personally i think they should save him until the 2nd halfs of games when he seems to get roided up(a seattle dig).

And why not pay him? They have the money snd he doesnt show the signs of tanking at 30 like others have.

Stewart is going through a resurgence like that, doesnt have the carries a lot of backs have at 27-28 and should go into his 30s rumbling also. Hopefully we restructure him to bring that cap down from 8 to 4.5 or so.

I honestly don't think they had a choice, without Marshawn they wouldn't have came back against the Packers. But I wouldn't be surprised if the take Gurley groom him for a few seasons

If it takes a $10m deal and a high draft pick to address RB, then they are going to ignore some developing needs. Sounds like they are making some business decisions based on emotions.  Its as if Marty Hurney is out there (except their record was 10-6, not 6-10.)

Marshawn can't have much left in the tank. He's in his 30s and has a ton of carries on his body. Seattle has run him into the ground.

Look at Frank Gore in SF. He's just a year or so older than Lynch with a similar body and career workload. And he fell off the face of the planet this year compared to years past.

He is 28.

The Seahawks are about 25 million under cap, most of their contracts are new this last year, so few to restructure.

What Im confused about is it shows Marshawn Lynch has an 8.2 million cap figure, 5 million is his base salary.  They have 1.5 million in dead money and SEVEN-- 7 million saved by cutting him.

So I guess this talk of an extension is to get that cap figure down right? If he says no you gotta cut him right?  I dont care--  i hope they keep him and starve.

25 million sounds like a lot-- but Russell Wilson is about to get like 23 Million a year cap eating contract.  Blew the wad right there. Bruce Irvin and Bobby Wagner look like they make peanuts, when do they get their new contracts?

CAP Gate is coming to an end.
