Ed Dickson to re-sign?

Dont blame Shula for Dickson dropping most of his early oppirtunities. It was the reason he didnt stick in Baltimore and had a bad rep there. He was terrible to start.

Im ok with him coming back if they take a guy who can be an upgrade over Williams. That shouldnt take too much.

He olny got targeted 17x the whole season. . He caught 10 of those.. thats not dropping opportunities. . That's the OC not having a clue how to use you..

Dickson seems to be a cheap serviceable compliment to Olsen. Probably not the Gronk Hernandez duo(ok that guy is a true POS, just referring to the pre-wanna-be-mafia-hitman bs) but serviceable.

Would i cry if one of our first 3 picks was another real tightend or a free agent that was better? No.

Hes fine to stay or go, not a cap eater, a superbowl contributor that brings much needed finishing experience to the team, and seems to embrace his role.

Cant complain. SWOLE is a nice feel good story, but im thinking that hes another one thats shown his best in flashes but isnt going farther. Hope he proves me wrong.

Dickson was a huge disappointment in Baltimore.  He dropped a lot of balls and was not much of a blocker.  Here, he had some success, but very little.  Had he done what he did at the end of the season during the losing streak, I doubt anyone cares one way or the other.

We will have at least 8 or 9 draft picks this year.  Is it possible that we could find a TE later in the draft who could match his production?

I will say there is something to be said about players who already know the system.

Maybe, but you could add...

Or not getting open.  Or the qb not having confidence in you. Shula wasn't throwing the passes.  By the way, if all 17 balls should have been caught, he could be dropping opportunities. I remember him dropping a few.  However, that is a fairly high target-catch ratio, but if you look at the receivers that are second and third options, they tend to have a higher percentage because they are not the focus of the defense. Just an example from my free agent research:  Calvin Johnson's was about 55%, while #3 WR and KR/PR (a free agent i want the Panthers to take a serious look at) Jeremy Ross caught 67% of targets.

Since Shula has never had a QB or real weapons to speak of, save Alstott and Dunn in Tampa, I want to see how he does with weapons.  This has to be the year the OL comes together and Gettlemen adds the other piece to the WR equation.   This will be fun.  If I feel the same about Shula this time next year, I will lead the torch mob to the stadium.

I think that he played well for the most part but I also think that BW could've played just as well. although i value our coaches opinions...

Why on Earth would you trust the coaches opinions who started Silatolu over Norwell for like 11 weeks? And Wiliams over Stewart? Depth chart management is Rivera's very worst trait.

BW will ride the bench until someone in front of him gets injured and Rivera is forced to make a move, then he'll prove Rivera stupid for going with Dickson in the first place. That's how it always goes.

"Because I have no choice". I haven't agreed with a lot of coaching decisions made, especially play calling in the red zone but what choice do I have but to trust their opinions because they see these guys practice and going through their drills on a regular basis. Well of course I could complain and make pointless threads about not trusting the coaches and get nothing more than what I get by saying that I thrust them, except one is negative and the other is supporting my team
