Epica: The Perfect Symphonic Metal Band

lol you're the only one in this thread that came in looking for an argument by attacking another's tastes. "better than Sevendust". Like I give a poo? And BTBAM is supposed to be music?

It's one thing to say it's not your thing but it's just disrespectful calling a whole genre "watered down and generic" when you have no idea the hard work it involves.

And you continue speaking out of your ass about the genre. Did you know Symphonic Metal has been around since mid to late 80's? Did you know there are subgenre's of Symphonic Metal? Symphonic black metal, Symphonic power metal, Symphonic gothic metal.

I'm not bent out of shape. You should just realize what is involved in the genre before spewing bullshit.

I don't give a damn that I started another thread before. This thread was about 1 band and since a poster liked what he was hearing, I suggested more. Don't like it? Not my problem. You replying says more about you than me. I'm glad you remember me though because I really don't know who you are.

Lol

Symphonic metal's been around since the mid 80's?!?!?!? YOU DON'T SAY!!!!!

I like how you're apparently trying to lecture me on the history of metal, when I have probably listened to it longer than you have been alive.

I respect the musicians that make up the genre... I just don't hold a lot of care for the end product or your views on how awesome it is. No need to get so bent out of shape because your feelings are hurt. Everyone goes through phases bud. I had my nu-metal days and survived them. I even had an Iced Earth phase. But I could never really dig much of the symphonic stuff. It is the metal equivalent of stage or Disney music. It is show-tune gimmicky, and as I stated earlier, it is basically the end product of power metalers that don't want to dress in black and put on white makeup and become black metalers.

It is okay. Take a deep breath.

Well, one thing we can agree on is that we all like some form of metal/hardcore.

I'm too young to remember the eighties (born in 88), so I can't get into this battle, but I respect all types of this genre.  Hell, I even have to give props to Hawthorne Heights who brought me in back in my teens (granted, they didn't stay on my list long).  Did I really just reference Hawthorne Heights?

Anyway, what I'm trying to say, is we are the 1% of the population who actually enjoys this type of music.  Let's enjoy it together.
