Jake Delhomme was the 7th best QB in the league last year

If you remember you were the one who brought up the postseason not me. I just pointed out that the stats weren't consistent because the Saints didn't get into the post season. And simply pointed out that while Brees had a better rating, that Jake has always played better head to head versus Brees. In fact Jake has never lost to the Saints as a starting quarterback. As long as you are going on other team's message boards throwing up Bree's passer rating in our face we are going to retort with other facts as well. What do you expect??

What point do your facts have though? I don't understand why you would post them if your not trying to prove something or support an opinion. Do usually include random facts not related to some point or argument your making?

Comparing Bree's playing against the Panther defense to Delhomme playing against the New Orleans defense is not an equal comparison. Try using stats against the same opponents if you want an equivalent comparison. BTW, I'm a Panther fan, just not a Delhomme homer.

I am not sure that is true if you look at Davidson's pedigree. He is not from that same line. You can't really compare what we did in 2007 or even 2008 to what we will likely do in 2009 or beyond. Last year was Davidson's first complete one with all the parts and pieces. His philosophy is more in line with stretching the field from side to side versus deep and short.

he does bring an erhardt perkins influence into it, but the philosophy has pretty much remained intact. We're still using a lot of deep passing, a lot of play action, between Delhomme's passing splits in 2005 and 2008 his attempts in increments of distance are very similar

I'm guessing he meant to say that he's never lost as a starter to Peyton/Brees, or has never lost to the Saints in the dome.

Yeah, what you said. So much for posting at 1AM in the morning. I guess when they get beat regularly by Jake they have to try and salvage a small piece of dignity.:D Particularly when they gave him up for the great Aaron Brooks. Boy has he come back to haunt them particularly in the dome.

jake is good when hes good, but when he is bad..hes is painfully bad..sometimes he can make you wonder if he actually belongs in the nfl as a starting QB

Mostly only to those fans with unrealistic expectations who think every team can have a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. Anyone who has been a fan of the NFL for any time knows that all quarterbacks have good games and bad. You just want the good to outweigh the bad and anyone who isn't a hater can easily see that Jake's benefits far outweigh his occasional poor outings. You don't start in the league for 9 years and go to the pro-bowl unless you are a good quarterback.

i never said he sucked, i love jake..but this is the NFL..where the best players in the world play..im just not sure he is worthy of being a starting QB at times..his lack of consistancy is his trademark and his whole reutation..noone cares about wins and losses..we want rings and super bowl championships..sometimes you just have to agree with the guys on tv about jake...you just never know what hes gonna give you and for that reason he will always be mediocre in everyones eyes..every NFL analyst will say the same thing about jake..hes too inconsistent and you never know what you are gonna get from him..steve smith is the reason jake is even still in the nfl IMO
