Rivera up for Coach of the Year Again

Rivera seems to be an excellent educator and motivator. His weaknesses are clock management and lack of killer instinct.

In think that is a fair assessment.

 

i would expand on the killer instinct comment by saying he's too much of a nice guy.. its fine to be a nice guy, but sometimes you have to put the nice guy in your back pocket and be that guy that jumped all over Captain Munnerlyn on the sideline.. you have to have that attitude when evaluating players/coaches..

 

we all know Rivera is in Hardy's corner and wants him back.. and to be honest, he shouldn't.. he SHOULD be pissed.. Hardy made the entire organization look like fools and directly contributed to almost getting Rivera fired.. but because Rivera is such 'nice guy' he doesnt see it that way and gives 'his guys' a pass..

 

Rogers, Shula, Hardy - all easy scapegoats/weak links/sacrificial lambs that could be dealt with properly.. but they wont be.. and i dont even think if we fired Shula or Rogers, it would be considered a harsh move or Rivera now would be looked at as a cut-throat coach.. i just think it would be looked at as upgrading the roster/coaching staff/organization

So you don't think we had injuries this year to key people.? You don't think Hardy sitting out all year hurt the defense? You don't think starting a half dozen rookies will cause problems? Sometimes they aren't excuses but realities. Sometimes a coach has reasons for why things unfold like they do. And most fans can see that, while others who have already made up their mind look for things to complain about. You seem like one of those guys.

I think every team in the NFL deals with those things

I think you should stop making things personal when they are not
