When you reach your hand up toward an object, the muscles, tendons, and bones in your shoulder, elbow, and wrist instantly perform a long series of physics operations, in conjunction with your eyes, to allow you to move your hand in a straight line through three dimensions. It seems effortless to you because you have perfected software in your brain for doing it.

That's a perfect way of describing human 'intelligence'.  

 

 

To be human-level intelligent, a computer would have to understand things like the difference between [...] and why Braveheart was great but The Patriot was terrible.

Many people think AI is being able to beat Magnus Carlsen at chess or Stephen Hawking at physics.  True AI is being able to figure out why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Haven't read the articles yet, and it may be mentioned, but Morgan Spurlock had an episode on AI and Immortality on his show "Inside Man", that was pretty amazing. 

 

Season 2, Episode 2 titled "Futurism"...last I checked it was up on Netflix, and definitely worth a watch. 

 

 

Edit, Season 3 also kicked off a couple weeks ago with an episode on robots and AI.
