Interesting Jonathan Stewart rushing stats

JStew did miss games lately but he did have some horrific low hits to his ankles in those. He never practiced early in his career due to his college toe injury and foot issues but played on Sundays before that Preseason High Ankle sprain where I thought he fractured his leg.

J Stew ran like a beast and I hope to see him in 2015 taking 7 out of 10 carries with Fozzy and another rb in the mix.

J Stew was the offensive MVP in the win streak bc he made the playactions mean something bc Pink Dreads just was much easier to tackle and blitz on.

Yea ii'll agree that Stewart has been inconsistent. However, he's never been given the ball consistently through the season, or been healthy enough to be given the ball through the whole season, since he started playing professional football. Its always been "double trouble." Well now double trouble is about to end. and Stewart is still running harder than anyone on our team. Not only so, but the team plays better when he starts the game and sets the tone for the running game. His hard running encourages the OL to play harder and open up more holes for him. His yardage alleviates pressure from Cam to make 3rd & Long plays. and he brings a toughness that permeates through the whole team.

Stewart needs to be our feature back starting in Week 1 of the 2015 season. Fozzy needs to be our closer and change of pace back. If Tolbert is here, he needs to be our inside run goal-line back (Stewart and Fozzy can take the outside and off-tackle runs, harder to contain). I truly dont see the need to include a 4th back this year. The only way this set up should change is if we release Tolbert as a cap casualty and draft an RB (hopefully late-round). But honestly i dont think we should release Tolbert, even as a cap casualty. I think his cap hit is well worth what he gives our offense. Like Stewart, the team plays better when he is on the field.

all this to say, i am not worried about Stewart producing when on the field. I am worried that he wont be on the field to begin with all season long. i am hoping this is the first season he proves to have put his injury-prone ways behind him. and i honestly wouldnt meddle with the current stable we have. our four-headed rushing attack (Stewart, Cam, Tolbert, and Fozzy in that order) would be a nightmare to defend if we had an offensive line that could block well for them.

Jonathan Stewart is the man. He catches a lot of flak for being injured for 2 seasons but all the seasons before that he missed all of 2 games. This year once he was in football shape and the line came together he was money. As he always was.

I would love for him to be restructured to a team friendly deal. His value for being ppaid so high has been his biggest detraction.
