Lafell takes high road in interview about his parting ways with the Panthers

I am still trying to figure out how a QB literally helps a receiver to catch a ball.

I mean, does Brady throw balls that are inherently more catchable than Cam's? Does Josh McDaniels write up plays that make it easier for LaFell to catch?

Well...If that's the case, then you can hardly blame LaFell for having his best year.

To me, the whole "It's Brady" argument is pretty useless.

He was the #1 WR for a portion if last season...and delivered nothing.

This is way more Brady than it is LaFell.

I disagree. I think it's more scheme than Brady. Brady is not running the route. The playbook and scheme determines where he goes to make him open.

Why is the NFL portraying LaFell as a castoff with this big front page article? Talking about how NE has made him a star etc. I've watched him this year and I don't see much difference in his game.

He obviously loves it up there. Playing with Brady and Belichick. I've watched him a bit this year and he definitely looks like he's in better shape. Not to say he didn't enjoy his time here but he's just in a situation that he's a perfect fit for.

the threat of "deflated balls" might have something to do with it

LaFell is the much more complete receiver.  The number of targets relative to yards is not the most effective way to judge a receiver.

Cam was just building chemistry with Ginn, I would bet anything that if Ginn would have stayed this year along with Lafell he would over taken him for the number 2 spot. Especially after those 100 yards in the playoff game.

Kind of sad that LaFell could get a ring before Smitty

Smitty decided to cut his visit to the Pats off due to a storm and signed with the Ravens.

I appreciate all that Smitty did while he was here just as much as his most ardent supporters, but I don't think that this is sad in the slightest.  He made his choices.

Lafell looking like he's in much better shape has nothing to do with deflated balls. Brady is top 3 all time. Lafell is happy to be playing with a hall of fame qb. Brady's teammates past and present have all loved playing with him. Especially receivers.

Lafell wasn't overpayed. We just couldn't afford him.

The Lafell hate is so overwhelming and undeserving here that it is cringeworthy. He was a solid number 3 WR who was forced to be something better then he was. I'd of been fine if we kept him on the deal the Pats gave him. Unfortunately we had no cap room last offseason.

I don't hate Lafell and I think we wanted him back, but I'm glad we finally stopped overpaying for average talent.
