Ramsdell retiring

Hard to get overly excited about next season without any major changes happening with this coaching staff. Rivera got his way and kept all his guys, regardless of their lack of production. I wonder if Ramsdell just got fed up with his lack of influence and just said 'F' it.

Ramsdell, Duron Carter, David Gettis and Stephen Hill are joining forces to start a super-team in Los Angeles. They have already been given the 2016 Lombardi trophy and they are being inducted into the Hall of Fame in July.

get jeremy leman and ten clones to play defense and they'll have all the makings of a dynasty

He helped make Philip Rivers into a franchise QB.

The task of coaching Cam now belongs solely to a guy whose last job was working as a scout.

Eh... That is a chicken or the egg statement. Rivers may have been franchise QB even if he never met a Ramsdell

This is what I assume too.

I think he had minimal impact on last seasons offense. Mainly due to Ron's & Shula's stubbornness. The disappointment I think comes from knowing that there is now no hope that he gets a chance to maybe have an influence. Hell I was hoping with all my hopability(fitting new word) that he would replace shula. So its not necessarily what he did, but we believe he could have done given an opportunity.

Is this a Scotty O'Brien type of retire? You know: retire from Panthers, sign with Dolphins, now with Patriots. Retiring from the Panthers for coaches seems to be a 'no comment' type of move. Maybe out of deference to Jerry Richardson, idk. In that case, I wish him luck at his next job & don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. We'll be fine.

He was here for one season as a consultant and the offense regressed. I'm not sure where this doom and gloom reaction is coming from....and then I remember where I am.

Ramsdell and DeHaven are basically just collecting a check and not wanting to put in real coaching hours.

Nothing suggests this guy made a positive difference here. I'm not saying he's not a knowledgeable guy but his part time influence did nothing of note.

He was only working as a consultant.

Had he been used in the capacity for which he's demonstrated ability, it might have been different.

But then, this is a staff that has Bruce DeHaven as an assistant and Richard Rodgers in charge of special teams, so...
