Hornets and Nets restarts trade talks

Youll be clearing that money anyway.

Hendo, Williams, Lance and Al all have expiring contracts after next year

6 million, 7 million, 9 million, and 13 million respectively. We'll be able to do some serious moves in the 2016 offseason.

Yeah, I know even if we stay as is that money will clear, so for me it really does just come down to being done with the Lance experiment.

I'd like to ha e a little more flexibility as far as not tying up 23 million in one player in the meantime, and perhaps finding a different trade for those pieces is possible, but I doubt it. I honestly think that's the best case scenario for us, as it's likely any other team wouldn't be giving up a talent of Johnson's stature in order to dump salary without wanting picks.

I like Joe Johnson but not only does he have a big contract but he has an injury he has been playing with this season. So why trade for damaged goods?

I don't know if you can restructure in the NBA but the only way I would want Johnson is if he restructured his contract.

I have heard much better trade ideas such as:

Kevin Martin and Thaddeus Young for Lance Stephenson, Gary Neal and a future 1st round pick (top 14 protected)

Also

Arron Afflalo and Wilson Chandler and Randy Foye for Lance Stephenson, Gerald Henderson and a 1st round pick (top 10 protected)

Supposedly we have looked at acquiring Afflalo before and he would be a pretty nice addition to our squad.

Both of these trades could really improve our team and are a lot better than the Joe Johnson trade. I honestly would prefer the trade to Denver but wouldn't complain if we did the trade with the timberwolves.

Hopefully these rumors turn into the real deal but who knows what will end up happening.

Thanks to bleacher report for the information.
