Hornets and Nets restarts trade talks

Marvin is not a "big man." He's a 3 playing out of position.

I look at it this way: All three of those contracts were taking up roughly the same amount of cap as Joe's. Joe does what none of those three can do consistently: score. In order to survive the rest of the season with Roberts as the point guard and Biz starting at center, the wings HAVE to be upgraded to shoulder the scoring load, or else this team will continue to be painful to watch against bad teams and get blown out against good competition. Tanking at this point would be useless as it would only garner a top ten pick at best instead of top five.

At the end of the day, you're upgrading something that needs to be upgraded while keeping your young assets and picks and the players going out quite frankly weren't doing what they were brought in to do. Yeah, Johnson's contract sucks, but it's an expiring after this season and outside of Kemba no one on the roster is making double digit millions a year, so it can fit to serve its rental purpose.

It's a huge indictment on the offseason that was supposed to be, but kudos to Cho for realizing his mistake and trying to fix it. As Panther fans from 2008 to Hurney's eventual departure, we've seen what happens when GMs hope against hope for things to work themselves out.

I still feel like there's a trade for Al that will happen eventually, at which point we can begin building around the youth movement properly since the youth has kept us in the playoff hunt to this point.

FYI- this should open up some roster spots and CDR is available...

Good point about CDR.

I would do it.

Do you guys realize we would be trading Henderson, Williams and Stephenson for a 33 year old putting up worse numbers than Henderson the past month and getting paid 17 million more?

This is more of a desperate attempt to get rid of Lance than anything else.

Unfortunately, to get rid of a player at very low value, you have to take on a player with very low value. Also, these are the initial parameters being leaked, not necessarily what will end up being the final deal. Remember in the last rumor Lance was going to Brooklyn but it turned out Brooklyn only wanted to deal Lopez to OKC without Charlotte being involved.

You have to think with Kemba's health in question, Cho will push hard for Jarrett Jack to be included, especially since Joe's health is also in question.

EDIT: Jack cannot be traded with another player, so that would have to be a separate deal.

The Hendo hate on this forum is ridiculous. He's been a fine player for several years now.

He's also been completely averse to taking three point shots when this lineup has been dying for them for several years now.

Let's not act like he was an all-star. If PJ took smarter shots and played better defense he would have replaced him already. There's a reason his name has floated around every deadline.

What an absolute foolish thing to say.

I never even acted like Henderson was a good starter. But he's been a decent third scorer and a nice defender for several years now. It's not his fault that we never had anyone better to take shots. He is a role player whose been forced to start and done an okay job at it. At least he's not a cocky arrogant fug.

Who is reporting this Jakob?

I don't mind it at all. Johnson only had two years left on his contract and is an offensive player. The Lance experiment is over... He just doesn't fit here. Johnson can be a great lead and an even better complimentary player for what's left of his contract.

I definitely think he's a better fit here and if the trade goes down as reported, then Vonleh a d Biz are likely to get more minutes as well, so I think it makes us better. Do it.
